I'm not a fan of mitsubishi but the reported number of SUA incidents is not statistically enough to gather scientific data needed to even start a thorough investigation. In fairness to mitsubishi, we can safely say that as of the moment there is no scientific evidence for the existence of this so called SUA phenomenon on Montero SUVs. The only plausible explanation as of now is driver error..
