Being poor is a choice, being rich is not a sin. Now tell me we will leave it that way because of this excuses.

I think you are fooling yourself, and you are a good example that we need to change our educational system. So we better move on, remember " the only constant in this world is change".

OT: @mlhl@7: wait a minute, example of what again?WOW, brilliant! Being Poor is a Choice? really? tell that to the people from war torn countries or a new born from a poor family. Being BORN poor is not a choice, but DYING Poor is. Oh, Yes Being rich is not a sin. Who said it is?! corruption & maltreatment is a sin though, right? geez, is that really hard to understand?

the point is simple bai,If we want to solve our problems sa pinas, i think education is not number 1 on list (but it is on the list of priorities of course). if we do a Long term Plan, we should also create a Short term plan. K+12 is obviosly a long term plan, we have to wait 20 Years to see the result. then if it fails, what then? you qouted " the only constant in this world is change", try this: "TIME IS GOLD". If you are familiar with LEAN manufacturing then you would understand this. In simple terms, lets get rid of the excess in a timely manner without sacrificing quality. our OLD system is already as LEAN as it can get, quality? ehem, OFWs ?the demand of OFW is increasing yet our country is still considered a poor country, why is that? just to add all the corruption scandals which was publicized lately shows our country is not really poor & that our money is just hidden buy Brilliant Gov't officials & also AFP officials as well.

what are our short term plans? this is important too, did you know that? we need food on the table, shelter, etc. we need JOBS locally & not abroad. working abroad should be the LAST choice not your first. why? simply because of the reason that FAMILY is the smallest unit of our society (isn't it?). what is our Govt's plan for job creation? is it really hard to open more tax free zones in the Philippines? Why can't we open more?

I have no issue(or little issue) with the IDEA, but the Timing is clearly off. I think our priority should be JOB creation first before we move to K+12 or we do it simulationeously. & yes, WE are not ready. Go around public schools in the city & apil sad sa mga bukid & you'll see what i mean.

sakto bai..choice jud ang pag-abroad but if you have a family, it is a bitter pill to swallow. I believe that time is Gold bai. I also believe that education is not only learned in schools, it should also be taught at home. if you have half a parent to guide you kay the other half is abroad for work, then don't you feel nga unfair na? more that 20 YRs natang nagpadala og OFW's & where did it led us? Daghan puti sa gawas sa nasod bai, tinood jud na. but we have to look at their current situation sad bai. Most of their college /university Grads has Student loans which they have to pay for. Their system is very different from us. Be it banking system, goverment & not to mention their culture sad. in Hong kong bai, you'll see Old people working as waiters, janitors sa airport, even some with down syndome can find a day job. why can't a country as big as ours(& as rich in resources)find a solution for our JOB market? We have been a laughing stock in the international community (especially our neighbors) not because of our Educational system but because our Govt (theres a thread about an article about Pinoys in SG too, kataw-anan labas nato didto). that is 1 of the reasons why i think we are not ready for this.
