the stockings used for people with varicose veins are called compression stockings that squeeze the veins and prevent blood from pooling there. they are also more expensive than the ordinary stockings that we know of.

the stockings themselves do not prevent the varicose veins. exercise and maintaining a normal weight and avoiding standing and sitting positions for prolonged periods of time is. however, it must be known that this condition also tends to run in the family.

Luthienne, thanks for the research. So that means ang mga regular stockings dili maka prevent ug varicose veins? Only the special stockings made for such. Naa sab baya dire mapalit nga socks for diabetics. That's what i thought kanang varicose veins that starts to appear hereditary siguro na it runs in the genes just like uban or gray hair naay mga bata pa daghan kaayo uban which is also in their genes. In that case, not much we can do about it. Unless maka avail ka ug palit anang mga special hosiery for such and yes they will be more expensive compared sa mga regular hosieries.

..I used to wear pantyhose stockings at bed during my teen years kay ingun ni mommy maka lessen sa varicose. It looks formal and neat for those wearing it sa trabaho. In some ways oks raman pud na sa Pilipinas it served as fashion statement pero sad to say naa jud uban ended up being a fashion victim.

Its winter here at where im at (China) hasol baya kaayu pero kinahanglan jud. Ang fashion or trend is second nlang sa purpose.

Luthienne, yes i agree its a necessity for women for me just like socks. I cant go to sleep not even layering my legs with leggings and socks underneath pa sa blanket especially winter cause its really cold here. I have 3 drawerful of hoses, leggings and socks alone i wear them every day and for sleeping too. Can't do without them.

Shofu, i bet china is cold during winter and I know Chinese people love those hoses and leggings much so like japanese. They also started the trend on leg warmers over leggings and they carry it well they know how to accessorize. You can still be trendy and warm at the same time wearing them naa ra na sa imong pag coordinate so warm leggings on top of being a necessity is also fun to wear.

charmz, why man mo curl imo hairs? dili diay ka mag shave sa imong legs? hosiery is not to be used to conceal man it is a necessity here kaayo mag tights or leggings pa gani ko and socks under jeans u can just imagine how cold it is here to the bones gyud and when your jeans touches your skin, sus kalamig kaayo so the hosiery acts as portable heater to keep you warm. It helps a lot specially sa winter

oic got your pm...di ka pala maka intindi ng bisaya o sya cge mag tagalog na lang tayo. Opo 3 drawer full na accumulate na yan over the years and I wear them everyday. Pag mi run syiempre tapon na agad. I also wear tights to sleep that one i dont need socks i wear leggings too i dont think depende lang kung anong ma pull out ko sa drawer i dont even think about it anymore automatic na kasi so either tights or leggings mostly tights for work leggings at home. And how about you, how do you wear them with?

like i said i have a gymbag full na... pero iba dun may runs na and need to be disposed of. i have gloves too(silk and soft ones), garter belts, 2 cortsets/teddies... i shop at ukay-ukays. the corsets are like 2-3$ there... the hosiery is about 1$ for a good pair. pero most are used so i have to wash them muna. i sometimes wear for fun when i sleep. sometimes when like when it was freezing cold here sa office(no thermostat on the air con yet) i'd wear tights under my jeans. now i just wear for fun for a few minutes then tanggal kagad.

^^ ganun? talaga unique ka that's good! its nice to experiment me part na sa routine. nothing to it. much nicer man ang quality ng mga stockings dito pero ewan ko lang ha iba ata ang pang pinas mi na try na ako before yung Kanebo brand ba yun? mejo iba compared sa mga nabibili dito. Think those are really made for the hot weather kind of stockings kasi parang sobrang sheer an I dont really like the sheer nylon kinds kasi they sort of gusot at some places. So mi corset ka pa and all the works? where do you wear them? curious lang ako, hehehe

experiment? im way past that na... at home lang ako nag wwear.

kanebo? yuck! pangit nun! too cheap and runs too easily. sobrang nipis and kinda gusuting nga. di maganda ang finish sa skin, too matt... you'd look like and old lola... even the tarts here have better taste when it comes to stockings. the tan/brown/skin color is really awful... the black is slightly better but there are still so much more out there na masmaganda and still affordable like darlignton. i avoud the real cheesy brand na coz the garter around the waist is... what garter? it gets loose very easily. the nylon doesn't really follow the contours of your leg too.

just wear sheer here.. they're not thick naman
