By the way, I figured out something which could lessen the amount of salt in the air and lessen the speed of which Granule Dehumidifiers can suck up moisture.

I put a sheet of 2 ply toilet paper along with the other paper filter they have. Problema man gud nako sa moist guard, in a matter of minutes, dry na kaayu siya. Karun, it has remained at a fairly stable 50-60% after 2 hours

This is just a theory though. Pics to follow.

Guys, we finally have an answer! I checked out pinoyphotography.com and got this as a reply...

To quote from the source, in case the image above doesn't load:

Hi g_girl. I've been using granules for 3 years now. I also asked a chemical engineer whose company imports industrial chemicals and he promises that there's no truth to the fallacy that calcium chloride emits fumes that can damage cameras. However, the liquid that gathers at the bottom of the container CAN be corrosive and damage camera gear so I just check on it from time to time to make sure that I throw away any excess liquid, wash out the containers very well and dry them thoroughly before refilling with granules and reusing.

G_Girl, actually no need naman na ang DIY dry box or dry cabinet ba kung regular lang ka mo-shoot ... Angay lang na ang dry box kung tinuig una mo-shoot or sobra kadaghan ang gears and almost dili na magamit ang uban. Mas maayo mo- go out and shoot ka para mas improve imong skills and don't worry too much sa imong mga gears .... hehe .... tambag ni Noy Kulas lang na ha ... hehe
