Mas inutil si Cory pag sugpo sa communismo. Mas nidaghan pa ang NPA sa panahon ni Cory.

Read Greed and Betrayal by Dr. Cecilio Arillo and Neither Trumpets nor Drums by Salvador H. Laurel. Read also Doy - Biography of Salvador Laurel by Celia Diaz Laurel, naa didto ang diary entry ni Doy regarding his suspicion of betrayal by the Cory faction even before the snap elections.

Di ko mulaban ni Cory pero compare to Marcos Cory did Not declare Martial Law para mapugngan DAW ang Komunismo - which is a lame excuse if you think you have all the capacity to stop it by normal means.

Because Marcos fought off the First Quarter storm with Martial Law. At the time when communism was BEGINNING to swell its ranks in the Philippines, he used the Martial Law to stop it in its tracks. Before communist doctrines got a hold of the majority of proletariat masses, he had significantly weakened it. Look what happened to Indonesia, look what happened to Vietnam, and Cambodia--the leaders during the 50s up to the 60s did not act fast enough to contain the spread. Vietnam had to go through partition and war, Cambodia ended up under Khmer Rouge regime, and Indonesia, though they've resisted communism, had undergone one of the biggest purge and mass-murder at that time. All because their leaders were being reactive instead of proactive. You can't merely fight insurgencies conventionally in a battlefield, you have to strangle it out of the insurgents by strict policing.

So ang atung mga policies towards rebels before sa MArtial law are Not enough ang are Not strict?

precisely. The Malayas at that time, was a British commonwealth--still Communists managed to infiltrate and create an armed wing to fight the British and its subjects. Kusog jud ang influence sa communist doctrines at that time, that's why the west had to exert itself to contain it. No matter how strong your military is, if you don't impose an iron fist on them they will spread.
