The immigration court in San Francisco was closed partially this past Monday morning as federal lawyers reviewed thousands of Bay Area deportation cases that have been backlogged. They are closing cases that are considered low priority. Considering the huge Filipino population in the Bay Area, this is good news for pinoy TNTs who found themselves on the deportation rolls. However, there is a catch-there is still no clear path for them to legalize their stay in the United States.
This is really a relief for the TNT living in that area, though they still cannot be given working permits but there are still those who would hire them, for they come with a cheaper cost and found to be diligently enough to cope up with their works.
