CJs plan backfired on him, but the ombudsman/prosecution weren't so dumb as all that. The media leaks while very naughty served their purpose. When it came down to the inevitable vote very few people wanted to be seen supporting a person whose name has been linked with corruption. I would say look at the people with short speeches, perhaps their original supporting speeches were binned when it became apparent that the ship was sinking.

She thinks she's the smartest person in the country and her arrogance blinded her to her own failings. I was laughing when she kept bragging about being the only RTC judge in the courtroom and how an impeachment should be like a court trial. She's so smart and yet she doesn't seem to understand that an impeachment process is nothing like a court trial, it's a political process more than a judicial one. She also has a bad habit of holding a monopoly on best opinions, like when she insisted that the standard of evidence should be like a criminal case and that her opinion is the only correct one, never mind the fact that many judges including JPE have said the standard should be lower. She disrespected the court, which she was a part of, by walking out before all the senator judges gave their votes.

She gets hysterical when she's disrespected, but she had no problems blatantly disrespecting her peers, screaming at them and the walking out like a crazy nut. Yea, I got a vendetta against this woman because her hypocrisy just pisses me off. She can stand there and shout about fairness and due process but she has a different standard for herself, the CJ and people she deems dumber than her. PS I'd like to see what's in Miriam's peso and dollar accounts. That would be the icing on the cake.. cos this person has been screaming like a turd about corruption when she was running for president against Ramos and if everyone saw how much undeclared assets she has that would make her the biggest hypocrite this country ever had. After calling all the other senators hypocrites, if she's shown to be the biggest hypocrite of all that would really make my day.
