You can't afford weapons for war and no one has any reason to have war with you. Even China doesn't have a reason for a Declaration of War. You should take after what Indonesia did to build their defenses and armed forces. It's easy to purchase aircraft and equipment...it's another story maintaining it through resources and cost......and another training your soldiers to effectively use it.

And ANOTHER on how to combat against more superior capabilities, agility, training and firepower of other nations when yours is still inferior even with an upgrade.

Duterte is right. War for the Philippines is suicide.

Money does not make the world go round in War. Remember a bunch of rice farmers in a country called Vietnam kicked the French's ass....and I remember a bunch of rice farmers later in a country called Vietnam kick the USA's ass.....and I remember a country in WW2 called the Philippines that gave Japan hell in Cebu with the rebellion and insurgency taking several islands from them.

and stop dreaming of F-22 (they're not even allowed for export) or F-35s....(they equate to 1/3 of your entire defense spending not including maintenance).

It's not that we expect war with China.. it's better to be prepared for anything than be sorry in the end. We don't need to buys as many hardware as China has.
