It's not about consent or any logic, it's all about gays acting as spoiled brats asking for what they want. Just because they want it or just because it makes them (or you?) feel good doesn't mean that its right. What if kadtong mga lalake nga naay mga kabit mofight pud sa ilang right nga ilegalize ang kabit2x? Don't tell me you'd tolerate that. The point is, know your limits.

I don't know redemption32, but let me answer on his behalf.

First, where did you get the notion that anyone who supports a cause definitely has something to gain from it? That's just stupid. I support muslims who are currently being discriminated against in the west. Does that make me a muslim? No.

if youre not a homo, then what are you? why you support same s*x marriage?
Because, unlike you, some people believe homosexuals should be able to enjoy the same rights as heterosexuals - which is to be able to legally marry their partners.

    It's not about church weddings.
    It's not about procreating.

It's about giving all people the right to legally marrying someone they love before the law, regardless of gender.

That's it. So simple isn't it? It's their lives, not yours. Can't you at least afford them that right?

    Again...
    - Religion remains as is. No one is trying to change how Christian marriages should go. The Holy Matrimony remains as sacred as it has always been.
    - Procreation remains as is. Bearing a child will always need a man and a woman. The fear of granting legal marriage to gays since it will possibly stop the human race from procreating is just downright stupid.
    - And "eeeeeewwwww" is not a good enough justification to withhold rights from people. People who formulate their judgements based on their level of disgust are people who shouldn't be in the position to make decisions that could potentially affect the rights of others.

This is one of the most common (and ignorant) statements people say about gays - that they're just 'pretending' to be gay. That if they try really hard, they will become straight.

No offense or whatsoever intended, I just want to understand what you meant.
yes, im against same *** marriage cause of the yucky factor and some other things like it may influence future generations.

no, im not against any religious group making religious excuses cause its their religious freedom and they are just guiding their flocks. And who am i to restrict these groups.

i just dont like people here talking and debating about religions and to the point a religion had been disrespected. when a big factor of this disapproval would concentrate on personal and group oriented opinions as we can see to irreligious countries like China and Japan. the bottom line is "People doesnt like thing to be different"

dont get me wrong im a devout Christian. i will be happy if you people would debate thing without dragging religion.

So yeah.. you are right.. Religion is just your lame excuse.
I am very tolerant with same *** relationships, I think most Filipinos are. Religion aside, most Filipino do not like the concept of same *** marriage because it goes against the definition of filipino "FAMILY". This is not a religious issue. This is a social one.We Filipino are very adamant in giving up long held values.

The Philippines, although we want to appear to be a liberal state is a very conservative one. We still conform with the jus sanguini in terms of citizenship rather than jus soli, we dont allow foreigners to own lands. blah blah..

Furthermore what more do gays want to make their union legal? Our laws provides for relationship without the legal bonds of matrimony anyway with respect to their properties.
