Someone dear to me is about to enroll in either one of these courses. You may not know him, but what you say here may make a gigantic difference in this person's life and the people surrounding him. Sa EE langko mag briefly describe TS kung unsa ang naka advantage ani compared sa ECE

1. General overview of ECE and EE
Ang EE or Electrical Engineering kay mo design, maintain, operate og electrical systems sa 120V up to 230KV. Ang mga bestfriend aning EE kay AC/DC motors, generators, transformers, relays and circuit breakers.

2. Comparison
- Since ang e handle sa BSECE kay ginagmay raman nga voltage and current usually (4-20mA, 110-220V) compared sa BSEE nga 120V to 230KV (even above) any amount of current, so mas delikado jud ang BSEE.

Pero naay misconception ang mga tao nga ang mga BSEE kay immune na or dili ma hadlok ug kuryente. That is false. An Electrician or Electrical Engineer with a sound mind will not work on a LIVE system. Although its possible pero it is HIGHLY discouraged. Dapat off or patay ang system. So if safety ang imong work procedures, okay ra jud ang BSEE.

3. Course Overview
- it is a 5 year course... pero if engineering ka, naay allowance 1 to 2 years... so pwede ka mograduate 5-7 years.
Lisod ang BSEE kay dili manka maka kita ug kuryente, compared sa BSME ug BSCE. Ang naka nindot lang sa BSEE, kay if nindot ka ug foundation sa 3rd-4th year, sayon nalang ang 5thyear ug sa board exams, kay balik2x ra ang concept or ang uban formula (naa lang ginagmay changes).

Unlike sa BSME nga daghan formulas e memorize/internalize.

4. Ideal School
- Sa Cebu City lang, USCTC, CIT, and USJR.. by ranking.

5. Cost
-Dili ko ka estimate, pero ang BSEE usa ni sa mga average cost sa mga engineering courses. Dili man ni parehas sa uban nga sige ug upgrade ang laboratories (unlike computer courses and BSECE).

6. Life after Graduation
- how big are the employment opportunities waiting for either courses?
Ang naka nindot sa Electrical Engineering, kay bisan asa nga industry kinahanglan ug Electrical Engineer. Sa building, malls, power plants, manufacturing, barko, eroplano, etc..

So laktod pagka sulti, rare kaayo ang BSEE graduate ma padpad ug call centers kay daghan jud trabaho nag atang nila nga mo fit sa ilang field.


7. Salary Range
- makabuhi na ug pamilya?

Wide ang salary scope sa Electrical Engineer, depende pod sa company or if you are self employed. Pwede maka buhi ug 1 hangtod 3 ka pamilya kung dako ka ug income. Ok ra pod usa ka pamilya daghan ug chicks... jokes.

I really disagree with your statements. Mao ning mentality sa mga taga USCTC nga CompE ug ECE students, especially when I was still in school. Dili sa pang insulto pero pila kabuok ECE ug CompE ang naa ron nagtrabaho sa call centers?

Ang mga ME/EE graduates and professionals karon kay naa sa oil and gas, power generation, and research and developments, etc.

Ang mga Electrical Engineers sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, nag starting ug 30k+ basic salary. Mao ni ang ilang entry level sa regular position, especially for fresh graduates nga dili pa maka describe in simpler words unsa ang VARS.

Stagnant ang knowledge sa ME ug EE? Please show your supporting papers about this.

If mag base ka sa PRC, ang reason ngano ge REGULATE ug ge pagamyan ang passing rate sa ECE kay daghan na kaayo ECE nga wala nag work sa ilang profession and field. Mao na bilib ko sa mga licensed ECE kay mao na ang gepang hashasan na jud.

OT: ME doesn't only involved in breaking, assembling and fixing machines. Naa na gitawag nato karon og mga Mechanical Design Engineers in the industry for those who don't know this yet. Ang ila trabaho mag design og mga equipments, gadgets og uban pa. Kanang sa auto, cellphones, computers, ATMs og uban pa. Naa involve ana nga ME.

OnT:
EE involve pud sa mga electronics. Design pud ni sila og gi unsa pag pa power up sa mga devices og pag pasar sa safety standards. Dili lang kai sige og pa kuryente. Matawag pud ni sila og Electronics Engineer dire sa amo company. Broad kaayo ang opportunities sa ME og EE.

As for ECE and COMPE, I greatly admit nga we need your profession and skills... Kay ang automation kay makapa sayon sa among trabaho, kaming mga ME ug EE.

Pero sad to say, especially sa power plants and oil and gas companies... mas daghan population ang ME ug EE kaysa sa CompE ug ECE. Usa ra ka DCS/SCADA/Instrumentation and Control Engineer per plant. ang uban kay mga technicians and vocational graduates na.

And for info, Instrumentation and Control Engineer is not the sole responsibilty of an ECE or CompE. Actually fit ang ME and as well as EE ani.

What I said "mostly". Not all. If you're an EE or ME working in R&D company, naa jud na learning innovation since research and dev man ka pero og naa ka sa operations and maintenance mostly stagnant jud na balik2x ra operations. Why did I said that? I am a compe graduate but I worked as production engr in one of largest company here in Cebu. As I observed, gi laay ko sa work, learning is not fast paced, process always the same. Wa sad ko ng expect ingun ani diay. Now I quit that job and back to software engineering.

^^ and I observed EE, ME mostly physical jud ang stress ani labaw nag naay trouble. Ang Compe or ECE, if you're in programming and design sa system, stress sad imong brain sa pagpinsar..
