1st Cebu IT Security Summit 2007 set for February 27 and 28

Global Knowledge Associates, Inc. together with EC Council Malaysia, and Trend Micro will hold an event, “1st Cebu IT Security Summit 2007”, on February 27 and 28, 2007 at the SM Cebu from 9 AM to 5 PM. This is the first of its kind held outside of Manila.

The summit will include discussions of current and future issues, presentations from members and guests, and demos of various tools and techniques, involving the information security field. These will help the IT manager learn to protect his company’s network; counter measures to corporate espionage, intellectual property theft, hacking, computer forensic investigation; wireless and network security, among others. Invited guest speakers and trainers will come from EC-Council Malaysia, National Bureau of Investigation, and other certified security professionals and practitioners.

One of the major highlights of this event is the formation of the 1st Cebu Knights of the Web (Visayas Chapter). This group’s goal is to protect the Web against cyber crimes, threats, and terrorism. Knights of the Web (KW) is the first and only security organization in Asia recognized by EC-Council, an International E-Commerce organization. It has, to-date, 250 active members in the Philippines.

Global Knowledge has appointed Secure DNA PI as the special event organizer.

SA Palmer Mallari is a member of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant

(PICPA) and Philippine Institute of Industrial Security (PSIS). He become an NBI Agent

since October 1993 up to present. His a Supervising Agent and Currently the Executive-

Officer of NBI and also an Anti Fraud and Computer Crimes Division since January

of 2002.


He received a lot of awards and commendations in his career service. His included in the

NBI’s Top Ten Agents in terms of Performance from 1995 – 2001.A nominee as NBI

Agent of the year 2001 and countless Commendations in Case Investigation.


SA Mallari conducted various seminar and trainings regarding Security and Computer

Forensic. His our resource speaker in “ Computer Hacking and Forensic Investigation “

seminar last September, 2006 with 200+ attendees. He handled the investigation of the

very sensational ILOVEYOU virus case.
