If war ang atong topic, daghan kag makat onan by reading "THE ART OF WAR" by Sun Tzu.
If mo fight man gani ka ug war, make sure maka daog ka. If dili gani, ayaw nalang.
Attack the weak, avoid the strong
Really? I do not need to be nationalistic to be goaded to fight for my family and that goes for everyone else. That is a human trait. Being tricked into battle for a lost cause or being cowardly in the face of aggression is however a Filipino trait. If you are so brave and considering that you so called brave ones see that we are currently being bullied, let me ask you this: Have you finally enlisted in the Armed Forces or is all that you're spewing bullsh1t?
(*sighs* well, you started this)
Hey Mr. I'm-a-cool-soldier-but-I'm-not-going-to-wear-a-helmet-when-riding-my-glorified-scooter, it's called knowing a thing or two about politics and the world economy. I'm doing the same thing you're doing by concluding that ASEAN coming together isan instigator of world war.
And yes, you're buying into the propaganda by calling for a war as if it's the only option left on the table--that is what you're doing here, is it not?
Again, these are ships sent into an EEZ not fully recognized by other countries, so it's still a matter of dispute. Officially not an act of war.
Mao na diha ang root ani nga thread mismo brad..
Kay sa atong lantaw, lupig man gyud ta.. dili na lang ta? Welcome China and other bullies.. it is more fun in the Philippines.. dili gyud mi mosukol ninyo.. ana imo pasabot brad?
Ana na lang gyud ba diay kutob ang imo sense of duty to your country?
Well.. you have free will.. and I understand the principle of self preservation very well.. I understand your reasons if you choose not to fight.
Let us talk relevant history here for a moment and lets keep it simple.
During the Cuban crisis in the 60s, it was agreed upon that putting Russian missiles on Cuba would be deemed an act of war by the USA, and indeed they came close. Cuba is not even a territory part of the USA, you get me so far?
Now apply that to an outcrop of rock and corals, 200 clicks west of Pangasinan, and five fully armed warships of China came for the view would you say? One of those ships carried 20 amphibious landing crafts with 800 Chinese Marines trained for beach head landings. Still you will say they must have digital cameras with them for they were sent as tourists?
Legal ramblings on territorial disputes will go on an on.. but a belligerent bully will simply push us around militarily.
Talk only goes as far as the other listening. Always remember.. the voice of the weak is never heard at the negotiation table.
However, let us contain the issue within this thread.
I fight because I believe it is the right thing to do.. you believe that talk will solve this? I hope you are right and I am wrong.. really... because I hate war.. as much as I hate love...
Now..on the wearing of helmet.. we can talk about that some other time.

Apples and oranges. The Cuban Missile Crisis is different because it involved nuclear warheads sent from the USSR to Cuba in the height of the Cold War. The rules and issues are totally different.
Compare that to what's happening in the South China Sea, you have the PRC and other countries laying claim to waters and islands it deems as part of its territory based on historical data--a reasoning that's bullshit, but one that can't be shot down right away nonetheless.
Are the recent actions of the Chinese a provocation? Of course they are, and they're only doing so because they know they're in a position of strength. But it's still not an official act of war, at least not until the Philippines declares it to be so.
For now the best thing to do is wait. China won't fire the first shot, they're not that stupid. So again, let them pound sand and burn fuel.
hala sige mag gubat nata....kung magdungan palang na ug pangihi ang mga tawo didto sa china unya ihi-an ta diri, sa ihi palang daan seguradong malumos nata....hehehehe..![]()
a provocation is an act of war... you want a certification from NSO for that? or NBI Clearance?
this current leadership is aware that we can not officially talk about war because we are weak and defenseless, and that is the sad reason china is bullying us.
yes.. all we can do is wait.. because what else can we really do?
this thread is simply probing into the sentiment of istoryans.. some already are resigned to the fact..
i hope for peace make no mistake about that.. except for forcible wearing of helmets.. but take note.. an entire local government is protesting against.. only here in this forum where such discussions is banned.
but if need be.. i offer my life in the service of my native land...even if i know i might lose it...so others like you will have the chance to read more books in freedom..
