Romans 10:17
So then Faith Cometh by Hearing and hearing by the Word of God
excerpt...
Romans 10:17 states that faith comes from hearing God's word. The law of the Old Testament requires the people to keep the law outwardly in order to be saved. Because Jesus Christ has already died on the cross for our sins, there is no longer any need to follow the Old Testament law anymore. The law of Moses is already nailed to the cross along with Jesus (Colossians 2:13 - 14). In the New Testament, anyone that accepts Jesus as their Lord and personal savior can get saved. If you believe the gospel that was preached to you, the Holy Spirit will come to lives in you (Galatians 3:2).
If you believe in God's words, it will be the power of God for you. When you believe what God said in his word, it will happen for you. Christians must hold on to the promises of God. God is a faithful God and he will keep all the promises he made. Faith is putting hope in something that you cannot see (Hebrews 11:1). God will not be pleased if you don't have faith. If you believe in what you pray for, God will hear your prayer.
In James 1:6 - 7, anyone who have doubt in God is a double minded person, like waves being tossed around by the wind. Double minded people should not expect to receive anything from God. By having faith in God, you will be credited as righteousness. Abraham was 75 years old when God told him that he will have a son by his wife, Sarah. Later, when Abraham was 100 years old, Sarah bore him a son called Isaac. Noah trusted in what God said and he built an ark, which enables him to save himself and his family.
When a person have faith in Jesus, he will receive the sonship of God. As the children of God, you have the right to receive eternal life and riches in heaven. For those who don't understand the gospel, it means foolishness to them and it is of no value to them (1 Corinthians 1:18; Hebrews 4:2). It was the Jews who first rejected the gospel so that salvation is open to the Gentiles. Not all Jews will be saved but only a remnant of them. The Jews will be saved when the full number of Gentiles have accepted Christ as their savior (Romans 11:25). We must trust in God in no matter what circumstances. If you trust in God, he will help you to solve your problems. Nothing is impossible in God (Luke 1:37).
