I'm surprised why some of us acknowledged the 'I love you virus' creator as one of the best hackers in the world.

I guess they are entitled to their opinion.
But perhaps it could be correct to say Onel was the best hack3r during the year 2000 .

The virus is even a modified version of the 'Melissa' worm.

Oh, i didn't know that. Could you please point out which site it says it is a modified version?
By "modified version" do you mean Onel just modified the script of the "Melissa"?

I have the impression that "Melissa" and "ILoveYou" spread much in the same way i.e Internet Mail System. But the similarily ends there.

Hacking Wars is currently ongoing...China hacked the Univ. of the Phils website and in retaliation Filipino hackers hacked 4 Chinese websites namely China Youth Online, P. Loft Youth Hostel and a Chinese government website and Chinese University Media Union. Obviously we have better skills and we speak English...
