where is your basis for this?

actually this statement is very false and in reality is quite opposite to what your saying. There are still 80% of hospitals that need nursing positions filled all over the big cities in the US. All you have to do is think of a hospital name, go their website and search of jobs or go to monster dot com and look up that hospital! let me know if you come out blank (i bet you won't)

in order to help the US get out of its "recession" obama decided to hire INTERNALLY! stop hiring foreigners so that it's citizens have jobs available. Therefore, all applicants will be denied a visa to work NOT because its saturated with nurses.

Every position we pinoys leave open is immediately taken by (our #1 job competitor in the US) an Indian nurse.

what you heard is wrong bro. That would be Illegal and will draw discrimination lawsuits all over the place. mu likay gud mga hospital ana.

once you have a work visa/or green card then you have every right to work in the US and be treated fairly. US citizens do not get special favors. thats the big debate krn with immigration reforms in the US.

so foreign graduates if you wish to be considered on this. specialize and have at least 3yrs hospital experience. and have masters.
still that is no guarantee. how much more training you have or experience.

if you apply at a US hospital, you may get the job...BUT i bet you a bucket of redhorse that NOT 1 us embassy officiial (in manila) will give you a visa to enter the US.

my point is untill obama lifts the restrictions for foreign hiring, then most nurses are pretty much SOL!

The reason behind that is because staff nurses are paid hourly and time and a half for overtime. management positions are salaried (fix pay; no overtime). most veteran nurses i know turn down all nurse management positions.

pinoys love the overtime money! imagine dri sa ato nurses work over 40hrs/wk with NO overtime pay

Money and time will never be wasted when it comes to education. At least they became professional and U.S. is not the only place for Filipino nurses. There are lots of opportunities in other countries like canada, europe, australia, new zealand etc.
