That's just a stupid and irresponsible perspective.

How's this for a statistic:
You are more likely to get raped, robbed, stabbed, shot, swindled etc in Cebu City than anywhere else in the region. The possibility of you being the victim of a crime is higher in Cebu. That's why people should be concerned about the numbers.

You didn't get my point.... We're talking about statistics here...

Just because a city has more crime than another does not take into account the population size niya.

Crime rate should factor in the total population and we get the percentage of incidents of crime.

Possible man nga another city might have lower incidents of crime but they have a higher crime rate...

To make it simple ....Crime rate takes into account the population of a city / town. The report above does not factor that into the equation.

I so totally agree...gamay lagi silag crime rate ang other cities/province....pero tan.awa sad asa ka mas mabuhi....didto sa bukid or here sa city....di kaha ka magpangita ug facebook? internet? shopping? movies? and other recreational/fun activities that only cebu can offer?

Low population = low crime rate jud
High Population = High crime rate jud...alangan man sad...

with less than 1000 police to guard the over 800 000 residents of Cebu ... murag lisud jud i suppress ang crime...labi nasad nga some crimes happens inside the house which involves family....maybe ang usa sa mabuhat sa mga police is to lessen the crime through Police visibility...but as i said gamay ra jud tawn tag mga police....so they can only cover or be visible at certain places....

Actually, it doesn't necessarily follow...

crime rate does not increase or decrease with population... its a derivative of the number of crimes per given population.

About time someone brought attention to the problem of crime in the metro. The CCPO needs to stop sugarcoating incidents of crime. January alone had 3 or 4 reports of indiscriminate shootings and robberies, and each time, Buenafe would be quoted as saying that "it's an isolated incident."
