Let's do a recap shall we....
    - The girls was able to graduate even it they wasnt able to join the ceremony
    - The STC admin defied the court order

They graduated, lets just move on, STC may have a reason in defying court order, but its their prerogative whatever the reason is.

Now the question is, HOW FAR A PRIVATE SCHOOL GO WITH THEIR POLICY TOWARDS THE STUDENT?

To those who keep yapping about Catholic teachings. If that's what you want to talk about, I suggest you go to another topic. This thread isn't about the errors of the church. Your bias towards the church is twisting how you're supposed to see the situation. Gone are the facts about the parents agreeing to the sanction before suing, gone are the facts that it wasn't just a bathing suit... So just because it is a Catholic school, certain facts no longer count?

Every school have their policies. Even my school that accepts Muslims and other religions have strict rules about drinking and smoking. The Catholic school I was in during high school accepts other religions, but everyone understood that they were subject to its rules.

Ang inyuha murang Ah, katoliko man gud, ah... christian man gud...

What? You have become the things that you think you hate about the Catholic church... and I say that as a non-religious human being with no relatives whatsoever studying/working in STC. If, however, it is found that the school administrators really did things such as calling the five students "sluts" or "bitches", then that is another story and I would then change my mind about how the school handled the situation. But as of now and based on the information that was made available, I think the punishment was fair. Seriously, is this the first time you've heard of students who were unable to attend graduation because they violated something?

as far as what is in the handbook.

If i read the transcript sa ilang presscon... Katong si Supe brushed aside the suggestion for cleaning the schoolgrounds because malingaw ra daw mga bata ana... She wanted harsher punishment gyud so the kids will know what they did is wrong... Problema lang kay public shaming naman hinuon iyang style by segregating them from their peers essentially branding them as oucasts.

I don't really mind of the school rules as long as it doesn't infringes the basic human rights . By having rules about what students should and shouldn't do outside the school about their personal affairs is beyond me .

Posters are siding with the school because they probably went to a Catholic school or deluded Catholics or both . They , to the likes of makie , are arguing that students should follow the rules or else GTFO of the school . But who's not complying the TRO now ?? GTFO ... your arguments are nothing but a piece of farce .
Bikinis? How about liquor and cigarettes? Don't tell me that those students are at least 18 years of age.

Before you start whining, better do a background check on the author first. Google him. I don't know about you, but his educational background and experience look pretty good to me. I believe he has the competence to form a sound opinion based on legal (even religious) expertise. Why don't you present yours? I'd like to see if you can do better.
im not questioning his background as a professional but on his writing. he's writing something even with very little information. what he wrote bro is that the 16 yr old was not allowed to join the graduation ceremony just because she wore a bikini and posted it in facebook which is not actually the whole thing and its not even the real issue. the issue here is that the pictures were sexually provocative. he wasnt even sure if the girls were allowed to graduate but not allowed to join the ceremony. he should have reseached more before giving his opinion.

i think it would be fair to say that everything that the student has violated was stated in the handbook. wala man ko ng graduate from STC but rules are rules and they still have a say sa decency sa student. bisan ukayon pa nimo tanan records siguro, katong mga nangapil sa beauty pageant sa una wala ka paso sa stage. and this is even worse kay naa byay drinking and smoking. im not saying that teenagers do not do that and that we should all be hypocrites na saying we're not doing anything like that. but to rules are rules and they have consequences. i guess dapat ang student ng think ana before sila mo reklamo nganu dili sila kapaso. nagsalig siguro sila na they think they're invincible. STC IS AN INSTITUTION. and a school like STC is not only trying to nurture education but also the conduct sa student. pero dili nila ma control tanan nilang students so the best thing that they can do is impose their rules. ug dili sila ganahan ingon ani na rules maypa ng pa enrol nalang sila sa less strict na school. the parent should have known that as well before sila ngpalaban sa lawyers.
