@Samurai: unsa nga right? right to violate rules?

ingon sila nga ang girl (minor!) nag pose in a bikini with a lighted cigarette and a bottle of liquor...so where are the parents when this happened

Di man sa ingon wa sila naminaw. D baya jud unta to originally ilang grade nya gi change na lang into C with the sanction na dili sila ka join sa rites. Plus, makagraduate pa jud sila. Kung nagpadayon pa to sa D, naa juy chance na di makasulod ug college nang mga bata-a kay kailangan baya C imung grade para makapasar ka. So mao na.

As a catholic school boy and a law student myself... I do think that though both parties are at fault, but we should keep in mind that the facts are...
    1. STC said they have a rule banning students from posting photos that show "ample body exposure."
    2. The girl apparently broke the said rule and is unable to attend the march.
    3. There was already a TRO issued to restrain the said banning and let her march aswell as let her name be called out when she marches.
    4. Before serving the TRO the said officials weren't allowed to enter the school premises to serve it.

Thus, for fact 1 it will not be a question of whether the girl drank or smoked... a picture conveys of a thousand words but the question will be whether wearing a bikini constitutes ample body exposure? as it is so vague let's say it is... just to cite an example as if we said no, which I firmly believe in then there wouldn't be so much fuzz about it.

So the girl filed a case with the help of her parents against the school and apparently the court found that the school was inviolation of not being able to follow the right to due process guaranteed under the 1987 Constitution as the girl was not given the time to defend herself or hear her side of the story.

So the court had this to say, “It would drag them further into the abyss of emptiness and absence or lack of meaning to their temporal existence for the remainder of their lives. And to do this to them would indeed be most un-Christian if not entirely inhuman”

But the school being hard headed as it is didn't let the girl march, went to disobey the said paramount law of the Philippines and instilled a bad example for the generations to come. I wonder whether their pride was more important than their calling of being a good example of christianism within the society was more important for them...

Let it be known that I do think their punishment is harsh, the catholic school that I went in (apprently a sister school) had students do initiations within the cr of the campus at school hours for their renowned fraternities... I should know this for a fact coz my bestfriend was one of them. Kulatahon sila sulod sa cr and was made the laughing stock of the school when they were made to humiliate themselves. The school knew about the said act and that every fratmen + the ones joining the initiation were at first barred from marching but saw it unfitting... they were unable to join the practices for the marches because they had a recollection, aswell as help the decoration and on the weekends volunteer on tutoring the lesser fortunate kids on their basic math and english... gipapraktis ra sila kaisa then march na dayun sila together with us... let it be known that the fratmen that were involved actually turned out great... most of them are professionals and my best friend a CPA..

@Samurai: so the parents thought they did not violate the rules? so meaning wala sila basa-basa sa handbook/diary of her daughter? it's clearly stated there kung unsa mga rules of conduct nga i-follow dapat sa students. and the parents are made aware of this at the start of the school year since they are made to sign on the reply slip. nagtuo lang ghapon sila nga wala ka violate ila anak? naa jud na sa Section V sa ilang diary. i should know coz i have a daughter enrolled in that school.
