I go for Rico's talent for song writing and style of sound

when i was still botchokoy sa music, i already watched rivermaya perform on our old 13 channel tv and also had the chance to see them perform live. bamboo already had the moves and the singing styles which were not yet done by other pinoy rock bands. plus his vocal quality and range, whew! superb. now here comes rico, used to do the keyboards,backup vocals, compose, arrange and did the other instrument backings (until he became the lead vocalist). his music style was way ahead than other filipino composers. some songs i did not understand and could not relate to but some years after, it was when i understood and felt the meaning of each lyric and musicality. the genre he incorporated on his music was so versatile and unlimited. i was even amazed to find out that rico blanco/rivermaya is one of the major influences on other rock bands of the same generation and on the generations that came.

to sum up, both were way ahead of their time. they got the talent. that is why i totally salute and appreciate them both. it's hard to compare both greats. they both were personalities whom people look up to and respect. well, to a common listener, they may not appreciate and see up front but for those who really dig into it may find them "superhuman".

how i wish they will one day reunite. bungkag jud cguro ang pilipinas inig gawas sa bago nga album... <<heheh>>
