Starting to get hyped up for the upcoming games, Manning's quick striking offense vs the ever so cool under pressure Brady. Nice matchup. Colts and their fans are probably ecstatic to have another home game... if the favored Chargers had beaten the Patriots... then the Colts would have played at San Diego this upcoming weekend.

Can the Saints defense keep the Bears' offense in check and keep them to a manageable amount of points... while their talented offense tries to put up points on the highly regarded Bears' defense?

I'll post point spreads tomorrow.

@EZRA.... I'm starting a baseball thread to continue our baseball discussion and also so that others might see the topic and talk about some hardball too. Plus, I don't want the Istorya Police to fine me for too many OT's...heheh. Find it in Sports & Rec Topic: MLB (MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL) 2007 season.

NFC Championship (Monday Jan 22nd 4:00 a.m.)

AFC Championship (Monday Jan 22nd 7:30 a.m.)
New England Patriots (+3) @ Indianapolis Colts (-3) here's my picks:

straight-up:

New Orleans Saints over Chicago Bears - in as much as I love defense, I believe that this year's gonna be a memorable one for the Saints. with the tandem of Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush, plus Drew Brees - that's a tough order for the Bears defense. but what I'm really worried about is Chicago's QB. you'll never know who's gonna show...

New England Patriots over Indianapolis Colts - this is the year I think that Peyton and the Colts would finally overcome the "HUMP", but until then, I think the Pats can still win this one and go to the big dance.

point spreads:

New Orleans Saints (+2.5) over Chicago Bears (-2.5)

New England Patriots (+3) over Indianapolis Colts (-3)

heart picks:

Chicago Bears over New Orleans Saints

Indianapolis Colts over New England Patriots

- I would love to see specialists on Offense and Defense mix it up during the Super Bowl.
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

It happened before No.1 offense (Oakland Raiders "TEH RAIDERS") and no.1 defense (Tampa Bay). Damn I forgot to put up my picks last week. Well for this week will be straight up. Pats over Colts and Saints over Bears.

Its COLTS vs. BEARS for the Superbowl!

At last, the Colts made it thru AFC Championship! Let's see Defense battle against Offense this finals. Cheers.

Good for Dungy ... God knows he deserve to be in the Superbowl (after being dropped by the BUCS despite of his successive playoff appearances).

SUPERBOWL PICK:

COLTS over BEARS

Indeed. It's Colts over Bears.

Bears QB Grossman tends to be erratic at times.

With flag football practices on Saturday and all the Sinulog Festivities (which started on Saturday night and ended Monday early a.m sometime) Man, I suck, I never did get a chance to post my picks (let me just state that I was neither surprised nor dissapointed with the outcomes though). I did manage to win a small wager from my friend though (I can't believe that we both actually remember betting each other.... we weren't in the most sober state at the time)...heheh. I did manage to get home and to sleep though. I woke up just in time for the first possesion of the Colts Pats game.... heheh. So I was a little dissapointed about missing the NFC game. On the other hand I was glad that I was able to wake up (surprisingly without the use of an alarm but with a nice sized headache) in time to catch the game I really wanted to see. Great comeback by the Colts to finally get past their reputation as playoff choke artists. Now comes the Super Bowl, lets see if they're just happy to be there (glad to have the monkey off their back) or determined to take this all the way through. I saw a replay of the Bears Saints game, after I already knew the final score (I hate that ) and I figured (from the final score) that it would be a blowout from the start. I was wrong to think that, as it was still a very close game heading into the 4th quarter.

Offense vs defense, yup sure did happen in "Dah Raaaiiideers" vs Bucs Super Bowl a few years back, but this is a little different. Bears' head coach Smith won't be game planning his defense against an offense which he knows the in and outs of (Bucs offensive-minded head coach Gruden did, having just left the Raiders only a year earlier). Do you remember John Lynch’s comment that “We saw every play they’ve run so far in practice”? Buc's D was tough enough without having that advantage....heheh. I know... excuses are like buttholes.... everyone's got them...and they usually stink..... heheh.
Bears D won't have that hometown Chicago nasty weather advangtage in the Super Bowl. It was good timing for the Bears as the first real cold front of the winter came pushing through last week. I thought of that beforehand as a big advantage to the Bears as they were playing against a southern based dome team. Will Miami's hot weather be a disadvantage to the Bears D for the Super Bowl? The Colts can wear a defense down (like they did to the Pats last week) with their no huddle offense that is tough to stop for 4 quarters? The Colts' no-huddle offense usually equates to more possesions per game and more plays from scrimmage per game than the Bears D to are used to stopping. Now can the Bears' offense control the ball themselves with their running attack and limit the Colts' possesions? So many questions, I just hope the game is exciting and comes down to a dramatic conclusion. Nice to see a couple of teams in the Super Bowl that haven't made it in many years. The Colts are favored to beat the Bears in the Super Bowl.

BTW, Raider's hired a new really young (only 31 years old) head coach, Lane Kiffin. Of course his backround is with the offense, I mean does Al Davis do it any other way? Kiffin was offensive coordinator/receiver's coach with USC. I hope that Rob Ryan (Raider's D coordinator) stays on in Oakland even though he didn't get the head coaching job. It's worked pretty well with the Raiders and young head coaches in the past, but he's got alot of work to do on the offense. Good luck... may the force be with you ....heheh. Just win baby.... please!!
