Simple ra ang issue diri... did Pacquiao pay the right taxes or not.
As expected of any celebrity, the media would feast on such damaging stories that would merit a lot of attention.

I have been employed for 8 years and automatic 25% of my salary goes to tax. Unfortunately for Pacquiao, they have to file it themselves by hiring a good accountant(book keeper) etc. That's why the BIR's knocking on his doors to ask if they can show the needed papers since there was no record that the right taxes were paid despite a world wide publicity on how much he earned last year.

That's why a photocopy of every legal document needed should be visible to the customers in any money generating establishment to ensure that they have paid their dues.
Just show the needed papers and prove your innocence. Prove the BIR wrong with FACTS not stories.

the impeachment only happened last December.

Why doesn't the BIR engaged privately & personally with Pacquiao regarding those taxes unfiled and unpaid? Is it a very simple and professional way to personalize that kind of matter? Unless Manny denies and doesn't claim those tax lapses he haven't paid pertaining to those unpaid tax claims and they can provoke to him to the media and he's pressured to do those. But they haven't done that. tsk tsk.

Every government agencies/politics love to showcase their propaganda to the media. Any event/s presented are unlikely favorable to them and judged by the people and destroying the personal reputation of the alleged individual without doing a professional way to provoke it.

But before Corona was impeached by the administration, another official was in which Pac despite being absent, voiced his opposition. It could still be about the impeachment although not necessarily Coronoa's.

Pacquiao said the BIR even violated its own rules when it served the subpoena not on him but on another person that the boxing champ did not know. He also questions why the BIR served the subpoena in General Santos City when he is now a resident of Sarangani.
