mura'g gtx670 man unta tong plano ani na numbering scheme... then ang balita kay between gtx580 & hd7970 ang performance nya... don't know if sakto ba ko... hehehe... pero, ang ning gawas kay single monster gpu man... nice work nvidia...

Did NVIDIA Originally Intend to Call GTX 680 as GTX 670 Ti? | techPowerUp
a GTX670Ti card became GTX680... its actually true, I remember some rumors before that the GTX680 can perform 2x faster than gtx580... and yet, here it is just beating the HD7970 in a small margin. Good profit margin for nVidia and not destroying the market. Good one! Think about if they released it as GTX670 Ti and kicked AMD's 7970 so bad and priced so much lower than HD7950. That would clearly mess up the video card market and would probably make AMD go out of business.
Currently AMD is stuck at low-mid range processors, Intel keeps on postponing their release of new processors, since there is no competition. You don't want to do that in their GPU side as well, do you? hehehe...

I think people should give more focus on the performance / watt and performance / dollar rather than just raw performance.
What we're witnessing now would be the equivalent of a graphics card top speed arms race.
Efficiency and cost effectiveness should be the major consideration because frankly 1,000 + watt power supplies are getting ridiculous.
The best analogy would be to compare it to how we would review cars. Top speed (raw performance) is just one criteria... we have to factor in the cost of the car (cost effectiveness) plus its fuel consumption (efficiency).
Reviewers should focus on performance per watt instead of just raw performance when they rank video cards.
the GTX680 would be the winner on the "cost-performance-power consumption ratio"... "for now"...
for the upcoming cards, a 750W PSU would be more than able in tri to quad set up...
it's not anymore a rumur. it is actually a mid-range card GK104 designed to replace GTX560TI.
Supposed to be named as GTX660TI but AMD undershot their estimates on their next gen high-end.
Mid-range nVidia card demolishing a high-end AMD card... pretty amazing ha.,
nVidia is currently milking this card. Wait till GK110, the big chip Kepler arrives.
That's when we see this card priced at probably Php15,000.00.
