timeliness is next to punctuality!!

In a youth program i'm involved in right now, we are teaching students the following:

A "hospitality group" is assigned whenever there's a speaker invited to their class. This group is trained in mini-event planning, not just in the practical side of things but most importantly in values. They ask themselves, 'If i were the invited speaker, how would I feel upon stepping in the class?' So this group usually comes up with the decision to:

1. make sure the room is clean and orderly
2. prepare a glass of warm water for the speaker
3. prepare a microphone just in case
4. prepare the whiteboard, with an eraser and pens that write (so frustrating to use pens that run out of ink!)
5. make sure their classmates are in complete uniform, have their notebooks and pen ready to take down notes, and seated 10 minutes before the scheduled talk.

It's nice to see them do all these things for their teachers/invited guests. Gives me hope that they will acquire the values and habit that they will teach others as well.

I remember when I went to Japan, grabe kaayo ka precise dyud sila sa time..
I mean minutes dyud.. I-remind gud mi pirme sa amo Japanese nga boss..
Please use Japanese time which is + / - 1 minute, not Filipino time + 1 - 2 hours...

Anyways I think one way to instill discipline for timeliness is to impose it.
Like for example when I handle company meetings, I arrive 10 minutes early.
So as soon as the time set for the meeting arrives, we start right away...
Patagam sa mga maglangay2x... It becomes their loss sila ang mahago ug inquire what happened..

now, do you think the long lines at NBI are a symptom of timeliness?

dunno with you, but for me the idea behind making people wait for hours is a lack of respect for time. if hundreds of people wait for 5 hours that's already hundreds and hundreds of lost productive hours. talk about nation building.

let me be the one to tell you bro that your teachers are setting a bad example. ug wa gyud diay na silay gana motudlo kay gidaginot gud ang lugway. di saktong oras sa pagtudlo pero ang ilang sweldo sakto. ikaw nga estudyante di pod saktong oras tingklase pero imong tuition sakto. so naa juy na alkanse.

Time conscious ko hadlok ko malate gyod...during my college days wala gyod ko malate until now nga nag work na...CHEERS!

Labi na gyod diri sa company where I am connected at...kay naa man gud mi perfect attendance. kay makatabang na gyod siya ug daku.. I am always aiming for perfect attendance..Hehe
