my nephew and niece are as filipino as they can be. They were born in texas, came to live in the Philippines and went back to the US using a US passport. Filipino blood in their veins; but they do not see it convenient to be filipino. I know they can apply a philippine passport.

they speak fluent english (with a heavy cebuano accent), cebuano, and french. they studied philippine culture and history here.

so why was 1 player interviewed speaking in spanish? did his roots came from zamboanga? porque he doesnt speak any dialect and he is just starting to learn pilipino.

Here's 1 reason I can think of where being of 2 citizenship can be an advantage. If you have a US and Philippine passport, In countries that are anti US, you are filipino. In countries that are anti Philippines (if any), you are US.

Get Real! If you consider them filipinos, I dare you to remove government support for football. Let's see if these players are truly filipino and stay with the team. if the dragon boat team can get the gold without government support, why not football.

the philippine national football team is bankrolled by private funds. the government funding they receive is almost nonexistent. if you want the dragon boat team to get the same funding, find them sponsors.

apparently, theyve done more for this country than you have. those who know the situation of football in the philippines compared to our neighbors understand why we need filipino-foreigners in the team right now bisan bati paminawn sa uban. asa ka nga kita ra ang south east asian country intawn nga way professional football league. gilubong man gani ang mga pure filipino azkals sa isa ka thai nga local club last 2010. club ra na ha. dili national team. and dili lang sa lubong ang score. pwerte kaayong lubonga. awa gud sa basket, mapildi man gani ang teams nga nagrepresent sa philippines sa mga south east asian countries nga way professional basketball league parihas anang PBA tungod mukuha ug mga pinoy nga players ug mukuha ug pinoy nga coach. its a sad reality but its necessary sa pagkakaron.
