crab mentality kuno. Pulling down non-Filipinos is crab mentality diay? sakto nang mu represent sa largely homogeneous country ky mga halflings lang? sure mo oi. Those guys are more European/Caucasian than they are Filipino.

i don't even understand why we even bothered with football when they know na kulang diay ang local talent. sa basketball ata okey pa, bisan asa sa pinas, kakita ta mga pro style ang laro, but just wearing slippers. unsaon pa kaha if hatagan additional training at gears?

for me, sakto ra man to na comment. o baka naman talagang tumagos sa buto ng mga ibang azkals, kaya nag-react? in my opinion, dapat pa rin ng thorough background check sa mga players, if indeed naa sila pinoy blood. madali lang gumawa ng identity at mag-claim na pinay ang nanay ko, ganito ganyan. but are these verified?

sana lang, national team, majority ng players, laki sa pinas. mas feel ng lumaki dito how it is to play for our country.

im a fan of our football national team. call them azkals but you have to accept the moniker as what other national teams do. les bleus for france, de manschaaft for germany or the three lions for england. im a fan because i love football very much. im a fan because IT IS MY TEAM.. IT IS MY NATIONAL TEAM.. win or lose i support ALL NATIONAL TEAMS.. hell i even support SMART GILAS even if i love football. the problem is some people here in our country are narrow minded and such egoistic about their nationality.

it is in our constitution and law that anyone who has filipino blood is eligible to be a filipino citizen, can acquire a philippine passport and can represent the philippines in any international competition. that doesnt sound a problem for me. but for some it is.

most of the azkals are half blooded indeed but since as an EDUCATED and CIVILIZED person, i consider them filipinos regardless of what you guys say. i dont care if they were born from another country or another planet as long as they have the same blood as mine, i consider them as filipinos.

the azkals have been there even when they were not famous. dont blame them for what they are now. im even happy my favorite sport is getting recognized here. dont blame them for their good looks as it is GOD GIVEN. wa natay mabuhat ana. dont blame the women if they go gaga over them. dont blame them for their competitive wins as they worked hard for it. MIND YOU GUYS, REPRESENTING A NATIONAL TEAM DOESNT ENTITLE YOU TO SALARIES THAT CAN FEED YOUR FAMILY. but if they get product endorsements then i could say good for them. money earned will be probably given to mouths to be fed in their homes. what's wrong with that? everyone wants to earn some way or another.

they shed blood, sweat and tears REPRESENTING US.. hell we were even very proud of SMART GILAS finishing 4th in the FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIPS with most of the players who are Filipino-Americans and even a true-blue American naturalized as Filipino representing us. football is still in the early ages for our country. we do have local talent but we have to accept the fact that talent abroad HAS MORE EXPERIENCE AND THUS THE ADVANTAGE for our national team. give it time and the locals will excel in this sport and, if needed, we will not rely anymore on foreign talent. patience is a virtue.

and to this ARNOLD CLAVIO, man you are a piece of sh*t. sorry for the language but as a media personality you should have ought to be non-partisan. you have a code to follow yet you over react your opinions. opinions that are beyond the line. BEING RACIST DOESNT MAKE YOU ELIGIBLE TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD. in our time now, we have a lot of inter-racial people and WE SHOULD ACCEPT THAT FACT.

what is more shocking s that some posters here claimed they are pro Filipino in the other thread and they are for 'upholding the rule of law' kuno but they are fine with Mr. Clavio's clear racist remark kay 'tinood man sad'? what an irony.

We keep on talking about them as not purely Filipinos but most of us are not pure Filipinos as well. we are a mixed of races Malay/Chinese/Spanish/etc.

although my family name sounds Spanish but i look more of a Chinese than Spanish

sir, they are people and have families to feed, i dont think they are here just for FOOTBALL. fans are fans and you cant blame them for their love for the sport and national team. DO YOU KNOW THAT PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM DOESNT ENTITLE YOU TO SALARIES? naa tngai gamay pero simple prize rana for an achievement. these football players are playing for their mother clubs and thats where their hard earned money comes from. just like in the PBA or NBA, they are playing in ball clubs to support their families. PLAYING FOR A NATIONAL TEAM EARNS YOU PRIDE. THEY RISK THEIR LIFE AND LIMB, THEY RISK THEIR FOOTBALLING CAREERS JUST TO REPRESENT THE NATIONAL TEAM... if i dont have the heart for the national team, hell why would i care to play for it and get nothing from it?? plain and simple.
