Essential equipment for a photo hobbyist?

if you want a lens with large opening, get any of these: 16-35 2.8 (70k+), 17-55 2.8 (50k+), 70-200 2.8(60k+), 24-70 2.8(60-70k), or 50mm 1.8 (4k+, pretty cheap)...
I suggested 17-40 4L (30k+), coz i thought you were in a budget... sorry... hehehe...

well, the 17-40 4L, actually performs well. This is what we use in shooting whole body portraits and macro like shooting.. food, products, etc... it can't give you the same bokeh as the 17-55 2.8 though.

if you want great bokeh when shooting portraits, get the 50mm 1.8 or 70-200 2.8 (i just love this lens, i kinda forgot that i have a 50mm 1.8 because of this)

sigma's are notorious to have thin coatings that easily wear off in 2 - 3 years. but as my friend says "maybe if people would stop touching their glass, it would last longer".

its really up to your liking, for me its sigma 10-20 (i love the perspective you can create with this lens), 50 1.8 (for portrait & lowlight) & 70-200 f4 IS (for portrait or candid shots). I like to capture peoples natural expressions, gestures & emotions.

I'm on a budget bai. that's why sigma ako consider kai makalipong and presyo sa canon.

so far wala man ko ka encounter ug error. akong cam kay canon 350D.
I used to owned sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 before, so far sa akong pag gamit wala sad ko ka encounter ug error.

Talking on image quality, base lang sa akong na own ug na gamit ok man siya. Some would say na dili daw sharp ilahang copy, for me before I buy any lens ako sa suwayan kay dili man gyud tanan copy pareha ug result.
