Super Talent displayed a new PCI-e based flash storage system at CeBIT that it plans to release to market by the end of April. Dubbed the RAIDDrive upStream, it promises to deliver superior performance to that of conventional SSDs but will cost less than existing PCI-e products from the company.The RAIDDrive UpStream is Sandforce-driven with the implementation of four storage drives in an abstract RAID group. It uses the PCIe 1.1 x8 interface for connectivity and is capable of pushing out sequential speeds as high as 1GB/s read and 900MB/sec write rates.
Super Talent said that the RAIDDrive UpStream is aimed more toward the consumer rather than at the enterprise level thanks to the more aggressive pricing that will put it in line with the likes of OCZ's RevoDrive X2.
