Amount of ram needed will depend on the user's usage and the programs that need to run simultaneously.

I think for now 8GB is fine. 16GB might be too much depending on the software

today, unless you are running multiple virtual machines and databases simultaneously, 8GB is more than enough esp for gaming. but wait a few more years and for sure kuwang rana lol

when i was in college 10 yrs ago i remember thinking what the heck will i do with 256mb ram when its just too much at that time lol

basically.its NO CONTEST using a 16GB ( 4 x 4GB ) RAM on a DUAL CHANNEL vs. 3 x 1GB on LGA1366 or 8GB ( 2GB x 4 ) on LGA2011, dual channel bows down.

RAM speed is not how many can u open at a time, it's how fast can u open it

and for overall performance its not just RAM..its the setup

There's still a long, long, long way to go before kuwangan ang 8gb for general apps and GAMING. If app devs take advantage of more than 4gb, they lose the mass market. If game devs do the same, it would kill the console industry..
