I'm not sure if anyone will be open that late (or early) for these games. Tomorrow they start at 5:30 am and 9:00 am (Phils time). Monday games start 2 am and 5:30 am.
I am sure there will be a few places showing the Super Bowl though, no matte the start time.

My picks coming right up within the hour.

Here we go... can't wait to watch the games, wish my Raiders were playing... but they are light years away from the Divisional Playoffs right now.

Here's my picks (actually in the end, they are just GUESSES):

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Money Picks (with the point spread)

Baltimore Ravens (-4) (4,000 chips)  (I just think the Ravens Defense is tenacious, Peyton better get rid of the ball quickly, or he'll be on his back often)

Philadelphia Eagles (+5) (2,000 chips)  (closest matchup of the weekend to me, this SHOULD BE a close one, so the eagles + 5 SHOULD come out on top).

Chicago Bears (-8.5) (1,000 chips)  (Monsters of the Midway may need a score on defense for me to cover this big point spread)

New England Patriots (+5) (3.000 chips)  (Experience on the Pats side, and a hunch that I have, but if the Pats can't stop L.T., they and I are doomed)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Mind Picks (straight up, no point spread)

Baltimore Ravens  (De-Fense, De-Fense... and a decent offense to go with it this time. Ravens 7-1 at home, Colts only 4-4 on the road)

New Orleans Saints  (That place will be rocking, the Eagles better strike quick to take the crowd out of the game somewhat, or they better have earplugs)

Chicago Bears  (Defense has been porous lately, but I think maybe they were on cruise control, since they clinched a playoff spot long ago)

New England Patriots  (Brady is a proven, poised QB with an unbelievable playoff record, Rivers first playoff game, but I still despise his smugness.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Heart Picks (Who I want in my heart...not in my wallet) to win)

Indianapolis Colts (Would like to see them get past that big hurdle this year, and not choke again)

New Orleans Saints (Cuz the whole hurricane Katrina thing, the Aint's days... fans with paper bags over their heads, and they've never been to the big one)

Chicago Bears (They haven't been contenders for a while, so would be nice to see them back again)

San Diego Chargers (Cuz I wanna see Tom Brady go down, hate him since Raiders got ripped of in snow-job game (it's just that he kills me every time I pick against him)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck and enjoy the games!!!

money picks (points spread and chips)

Colts (+4) (2,000 chips) if the Colts strike twice in the first half and hold the Ravens to a zip, I think that would be a good advantage heading into the second half. but if the lead in the half is close, let's say a field goal or a TD, then they're in trouble.

Saints (-5) (3,000 chips) I think Garcia's magic wand will lose its power midway into the game. the Saints and their FANS, I think will make his life miserable during the game.

Seahawks (+8.5) (4,000 chips) Grossman, another Tony Romo in the making? there's just something about these young QB's that makes my heart beat faster.. something's gotta give..

Chargers (-5) (1,000 chips) I'm a little iffy if I put money on this pick. but I think the powerhouse Chargers (Tomlinson, Gates and Rivers) would be more than enough to cover the spread.

my heart picks (this is where money and sanity goes down the drain)

Indianapolis Colts - if you guys have read my picks from last year's, the Colts was my team to go all the way. imagine Peyton going to the playoffs every year and then FALL and never smell the grass on Super Bowl Sunday.. isn't that a little bit frustrating? so that's one good reason to root for them Colts.

New Orleans Saints - I've always loved how Sean Payton handled the offensive coaching job for the Cowboys during his 3 year stint in Dallas but Parcell's made sure he'd tie a tight leash on him in a sense where it choked him literally. but when he accepted the Head Coaching job of the Saints, "Payton's potential" was unleashed, add to that what happened to the area a couple of years back.. THAT is a very potent mix for a very "angry and dangerous" team.

Chicago Bears - I just love defense.. that should explain it..

New England Patriots - honestly, I hate Patriots fans.. all fans from New England in general. all those whining about their beloved Red Sox and all. but haven't been born and raised in that part of the globe just won't let me understand their passion. sports in the Phils is a far cry from what it is in the US. except for Manny Pacquiao where the whole country stands still, I haven't encountered a Sunday like the Super Bowl where roads and highways are empty during the game. it's just amazing.

BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT, having Tom Brady on the helm during the playoffs.. it's just hard to pick against them...

I am awake and ready to get going. Difference between watching here and the States is the time, will have a coffee in my hand instead of a more potent beverage...heheh.

@ Oman I'm with you on the hatred for Red Sox fans but for different reasons, I root for a baseball team that is deserving of my passion, I am a die hard N.Y. Yankees fan (26 time World Series Championships baby).

Last couple of minutes to get your picks in, Colts- Ravens game starts momentarily.

it's halftime of an FG kicking contest between the Colts and Ravens so far.. if this type play goes on the whole game, the Ravens have the advantage..

...and Namnori.. the handle's Omad and not Oman.. guess you need another cup of coffee to get that right.. haha.. just kidding..

let's all enjoy the game

So far I'm 2-0 with my straight up picks.

What about that Colts-Ravens game? ... never under-estimate Tony Dungy's defense (the sole architect of Tampa Bay Bucs defense). You would wonder how the Colts can still win with all that INT's on Manning.

Saints running game with Deuce and Bush .... simply deadly. Those 2 are so hard to contain.

Saturday's games were so tight .... I hope today's game are too. Pats vs Chargers ... I'm looking forward to this matchup.

OT: I hate the Yankees... and I'm from New York. It's no fun rooting for them since they're always expected to win the pennant. I mean, how can't you? They're 200+ million over the salary cap.. they have the best roster in the league. It's funny when they lost to the Marlins a few years ago, the Marlins' team salary (the whole team) was less compared to A. ROD's.

@ Omad, sorry about that man, didn't have my coffee yet at the time , I guess I must've thought you were a country... heheh.

Colts offensive line played a hell of a game, and their D did also. That interception on the one yard line that McNair tried to force in there took alot of air out of the Ravens, as they came away with zero points on that drive and the Colts then started a drive from that point that ended in one of their 5 field goals. Big 4th quarter drive that ended in a field goal ate away alot of the remaining time in the game. I got killed on this one as I was wrong on my 4,000 chip money pick (see above picks) and my straight up pick . I did ultimately, in my heart want the Colts to win, so my heart pick turned out good.

Saints pulled through in a close one, Eagles had their shot at the end but a killer offensive holding penalty on QB Garcia's crucial long scramble just about sealed their fate. Saints impressive on offense, gained alot of yards on the ground. I was correct on all three categories of picks for this one  (money for 2,000 chips, mind, and heart) as the Eagles came close enough on the scoreboard buy the Saints won the game by a slim margin.

OT: Cool, I'm a NYer too, and my favorite sports teams are all NY based except for the NFL (MLB: Yankees, NBA: Knicks, NHL: Islanders, NFL: Raiders). I only have one team in each sport, and they have been the same teams since my childhood (unlike my brothers, who have changed their favorite NFL teams a couple of times over the years). Okay, what happened to the Marlins team after that? Sold/traded off. There are alot of owners that have tons of money but don't spend it on their teams, at least you have to admit that George Steinbrenner cares, unlike many owners who are in it to only make money on the fans and fanfare, hope they get lucky one year (so they can make more money) and then dump the team by trade or waivers..... cuz their main goal is too make a big profit. Because of what the Marlins' owner did, they are still lucky to have a franchise. The reason that the Yankees get alot of revenue is not only that they are a major market team with big tv contracts, but they have built a winning tradition unsurpassed in major sports, with their logo recognized and seen around the world. The Mets play in NY, the Dodgers and Angels in L.A., the Cubs and White Sox in Chigago. They're all major market teams, what about their revenue? At least the Yankees put the money where it belongs, into their team, into their player's pockets.... not only in their owner's pocket. Because of penalties installed a few years ago for having a large payroll, George Steinbrenner pays hefty monetary fines for having a large payroll. Can you blame the Yankees for being good? The Yankees are competitive practically every year (10 division titles in a row) but of course you can't win it all... all the time. They are expected to win it all because they are... well, the Yankees, and that's what their goal is every year. Every team guns for them. 26 and counting, nobody comes close. Until the rules are changed, that's the way it is. You tell me, should the owner and management "not" do all they can, within the rules, to help his/her team win? Maybe you should hate the other teams for not doing all they can to create as fine an organization as the Yankees. But I love it when many people are haters, it just testifies to the fact that the Yankees are that good of an organization. I mean, not many people really "hate" the Colorado Rockies, or the Texas Rangers, do they? Anyway, I am glad to see that tall glass of redneck (Randy Johnson) gone and the return of Andy Petitte to the Bronx. I also hope that Roger Clemens comes back too, but if he does return to his original team (Boston), then he's the enemy again...heheh, that's the way it goes. See you in April on this one....heheh. Maybe we can start a baseball thread before then, not sure if many people are into it here though. Last season, the Yankees were on cable tv at least once a week here in the Philippines.... more than I got to see them when I was living in California.
