sir, NASA is not just about space, NASA is an institution of discovery, with the knowledge we get in study and research will be beneficial for us!, two heads are better than one sa laktud pa tabang rata kay dili baya tanan research ang ma cover sa NASA!, FYI sir we already have satelite in space it is name Agila-II operated by Mabuhay Philippines Satellite Corporation it is used by Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), High Rise Realty Development Corporation, Pilipino Telephone Corp. (Piltel), Beijing High Den Enterprises Limited, Walden Group of Companies, GMA Network Inc., Philippine Satellite Corporation (PSC), Cable Entertainment Corporation (CEC), Siy Yap Group (SYG) and Philippine Communications Satellite Corporation (PCSC), we need to study space dili tanang panahon magsalig rata sa uban!, we don't need send astronaut yet!, but soon!, perhaps you don't know most of hitech gadget nowadays are a result of NASA's continuing research!, if you think NASA is more about send astronaut to space!, bulding space shuttle!, then you are wrong!

I KNOW NASA does not only deal with space ... but NASA exists primarily so the United States can dominate space by actual missions TO space. I ask again, if the Philippines isn't going to plan to go into space, why do we need a space administration? Can't the government study and research without a "PASA"? ... or does the government need an official venue to waste money that could be better put to use elsewhere? The US had people studying space long before NASA. Why do we need a space administration if we aren't going to send anything into space? I keep asking why and I never get an answer ... exploration, knowledge, bla bla bla bla ... all can be done without an administration requiring people, resources, a budget.

bitaw sa, nindot man na nga priority research for a struggling country, mawala jud ang kapobre sa Pilipino. Pareha gud sa ato research sa crops ug soil, particularly sa rice, kinsa man nag-aply, ang vietnamese ug thais, then asa man angkat sa |Pinoy sa rice, gikan Thailand ug Vietnam.

One thing that I'd really like to propose - extend IRRI (international rice research institute) should extend research into other crops - this would include carrageanan production and new process methods, and the production of hybrid mango varieties. If we say we have the best mangoes around, we are now loosing this claim as there are now better mangoes that are grown in India and Thailand. So far the private sector is now driving this research, but it would be better if the government can extend an arm into RnD.

It wouldn't hurt if the government would start PASA even if it does not pour much money into this. The point is, we should ENCOURAGE RESEARCH and foster education, we may not have enough resources to start, but we can do with what we have - we've already hearch success stories from the private sector, shouldn't that be reason enough to start thinking CONSTRUCTIVELY and find alternate solutions to our everyday problems through innovation?

A few years ago, if you ask a high school student where the orion's belt is or where the horse nebulae is, he can give you answers... but now, they would just give you a blank stare ... where is their interest in space and exploration, science and physics? PASA is not about sending somebody to space, its about educating young generations in science and physics, its more on education rather than on exploration, and most of all - its about INSPIRATION.

The only way for you to make your dreams come true ... is that you have to stay awake and work for it.
