no. though both originated in the philippines, yawyan and sikaran are different. yawyan is a close resemblence to thailand's muay thai. it is a full-contact art which, aside from the feet and the hands and fists, uses the elbows, knees and the shin. while sikaran started way, way back in philippine history. sikaran is somewhat dubbed as the karate/taekwondo of the philippines. it focuses more on the use of the legs (as the name suggests). sikaran had the hook kick, back kick, spinning kicks and the popular roundhouse kicks and uses the hands/arms primarily for protection and not for attacks
