Yes, it is made in China. It handles and rides just about the same as its Japanese counterparts... no "made in China" feel to it. Although the engine power is more or less the same as it's competition with 1300cc engines, it makes up for it through superb handling through the tight corners. Various Toyota parts can also be used as upgrades on the suspension and engine components as it shares a few mechanical component with the Toyotas.
