Jesus was saying the we will always have the poor with us means that we have to take care of the poor. since God knew that the poor will be there always but he won't be since He will be in heaven.

such passage dont signify priests wearing so much expensive clothes to serve God, since they're the one wearing it, not God.

it's not Ms. yeung who is after the lavish celebration, it's really the church. nakahinumdum ba mo year 2000 if naa jud celebration sa beatification ni calungsod? still that'e a big money and cardinal vidal said bluntly that we will need bigger amount to celebrate.
