That 1 RAM might not be truly defective...U can verify it by using it alone and see if u don't experience hang-ups/blue screens with it...And if so, try slowing down some memory timings/settings in BIOS Setup then try using both sticks after that...

I have tried the other RAM which I am using it now and has been stable until now..But when I place the 2nd RAM alone the Blue screen appears and sometimes it resets all by itself. And if it can go though Windows desktop, and you run programs like Windows media player it wont play. and suddenly it will restart. But when I place the Good RAM back alll things is ok... until now. Thats why im using only 1 stick.

yap try one stick first if same things happens try to get/borrow a known good ram stick from a friend and try if it continues setup
