I just wonder why the heirs of HL would demand a staggering 9+ Billion Pesos (~13 Billion w/ Interest) for a piece of land that they do not own at all. It should have been given to the farmers with no condition, whatsoever, who toil and fatten the Cojuancos.

The vindictive ABS-CBN and Inquirer seem to not "demonize" the HL owners as much as they "demonize" the previous administration and the current Chief Justice.

His excellency, President Aquino seems to be partial in this case. In one interview, he mentioned that the owners must receive just compensation. (But, the real owners are not the Cojuancos, but the farmers).

It seems peculiar that after the Supreme Court has issued its stance on the HL issue, President Aquino and his allies steamrolled the impeachment proceedings against the CJ. Some of the Congressmen even admitted that it was rushed, and there was not enough time to read/debate it.

Strange times indeed.
