    Default Re: 400gb Sata hard drive configured as RAID

    @Earlz
    Enlighten me which raid mode CAN do with only 1 drive ?

    First you say "its putting the data on both drive equally" but then "coz the data were divided into half"
    Pag chor oi!

    What your trying to say that RAID0 is like combining both drives to be a single "huge" drive, but then you add "stripping" on the end.
    I mean no offense but can you show pictures and screenshots of your system running at RAID0 mode.. and a HD Tach result.

    Maybe you try to read it again what i said... "Raid is just like making your two drives like huge single drive, like raid0 (stripping)", what is the meaning of "LIKE", maybe I forgot the meaning of this as well.
    Maybe your not experimenting with your computer... You try to raid0 with a single drive then tell me it wont work, the reason i said useless coz it works like not a raid at all. I will give you some screenshots with my nvraid manager when I get home. Maybe you haven't tried raid that is why you don't know that it work with 1 drive. I'm so sorry to a person that thinks he knows, but obviously, all were just theory. LOL, LOL, LOL. maybe you don't even know that raid0 will only show the total amount of memory of the two drives(raid0) as single drives, the reason I said like a huge single drive. LOL, LOL, LOL. I put stripping coz it is called stripping, or should I say stripper. LOL.

    as cool as ice...

    Sad to say that my transfer rate is only 96mb/s... I'm so disappointed. LOL

    I do understand that ive mistakenly understood some of your sentences either due to your bad English or just my poor comprehension skills, after reading it again and again i did understand it so i admit the fact that i misunderstood some lines for a different meaning. but some parts of your reasoning still baffles me and yes i did claim im not a raid expert thats why i said im open to corrections.. no need to be a prick about it.

    Your entire statement is just plain confusing, first you imply that RAID0 works with a single drive then you say it doesn't work then on the last line again you are trying to imply that it works.
    EDIT:
    but then earlier you did say...

    Yes please do show me screenshots of RAID 0 fully working on a single drive.. id love to see that.

    The very same feeling can be had for a person that tries his English so bad...
    No RAID 0 does NOT combine both harddrive spaces, It only combines 2 stripes of the same size ex 200gb(stripe) + 200gb(stripe) = 400gb(stripe total) but a 80gb(stripe) + 200gb(stripe) would only allow 160GB of total disk space(stripe).

    Get rid of those slow harddrives and purchase a decent RAID controller.

    Im still waiting for you screenshots/pics, not that i doubt you have RAID 0 but i just want to see the performance and hardware picture if its possible.
