Intel's Core i7-3820 LGA 2011 CPU quietly appears

AKIBA PC has reported that Intel's Core i7-3820 processor has been spotted for purchase in Japan with a price tag of 25,000 Yen, converting over to about US $322.

This LGA 2011 Sandy Bridge-E based processor is the new entry level choice when going down the LGA 2011 route - a quad core unit with eight threads, running at a stock clock frequency of 3.6GHz and 3.9GHz when Turbo Boost is active. The CPU has 10MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 130W.

The retail packaging for the processor looks to be the same size as that used for the Core i7-3930K and Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition CPUs, indicating the lack of a bundled cooler.Overclocking wise we know little at this point in terms of what it's capable of getting to on average. It's said to be a 'limited unlocked' chip which means it has a more limited range of multiplier options available.Source: AKIBA PC
