As what I have learned from an old friend (who still works in emax), they have a different way of keeping the absenteeism low. They would require each team to work 1 hour on top of their 9 hours and 30 mins (plus 15-minute prep time), approximately 9 hours and 45 minutes, mind you, you are not being paid the extra hour of work. This is their way of resolving the absenteeism rate caused by their management. If someone from the team gets sick and is absent for the day (even if they have sick leaves), the entire team will automatically render this one hour unpaid overtime, so truly, Sick leaves is not honored in this company. 1 hour is what? 80 to 100 pesos paid in another call center. So if that happens, you get to work 9 hrs + 30 mins + 15 mins prep time + 1 hour unpaid OT = 10 hours and 45 minutes. So that means, you are prohibited from getting sick! yeah, i know, it's ridiculous ! and that's eperformax. Just think about it. Well, Im happy with the work i have right now, don't settle for less guys.
