I guess you guys really need to learn more deeply about SEO.. Its not just that... I will explain how the Google search engine works on my lessons. I've been working with SEO for 5+ years now and WE SEO consultants have collaboration site and we discuss things what's in the future for us SEOs.. and to answer your question.. Yes there's still SEO in the future. Exaggeration about algo?hmmm I guess you really need to dig deep more into the deeper ocean of SEO, coz Algo changes. Think of this. If ALGO won't change, a lot of SPAM SITES rank on Google. Everyday blackhat SEOs experiments stuff just to beat Google Algo's.. So, does Google just let them be? Don't change ALGO? Then ask yourself this... Why websites ranking doesn't stay on a particular page? Isn't it that Algo have something to do with it?

Tbh, self-study is a good way to go. That's how I started. But you always end up looking for an SEO Professional online that you can ask for.. coz that's how self-study works.. Either you read and digest or ask SEO Professionals what to do.. Or what to study for... coz you never knew that what you're reading right now, isn't working anymore.. since Google changes algo most of the time..

The talk about algo exageration is base on experience ranking 3000+ sites on a daily basis. If you have Programming experience and SEO experience you can say it base on what you see. Algo changes is there, but not major ones. Superficial, When was the last big changes? Panda? yes changes are there but not like you guys trying to tell everyone.

EX.

A city implements a curfew. everyone must be at home by 8pm. after days implementation they need to change cause not all should be covered, those working at night will have a pass. Minors are strictly not allowed. After a week minors will be allowed but with guardian. etc. etc...

Point is - Minor changes to enhance the original concept which is to minimize people out during curfew hours. in SEO world changes arent implemented daily, you need to roll out and check if its working as expected or not. SE arent excempted to trial and error cause changes are meant to be tested. concepts for changes and solutions needs to go thru weeks and months of study.

If changes are done daily or monthly then "Content is king" concept and other SEO methods should not work anymore. They still work. Profile backlinks still works. Web 2.0 still works. Article marketing was suppose to be hit by major google update, we were worried that our article writing group will be affected, instead demand went higher.

Talking like authority on this topic is difficult. SEO is not an exact science. Classroom experience is highly recommended to some students so i would recommend to those who want to learn that way, go to this guy.

I was planning last year to open up A free SEO Short term course but cant make it as business expansion is taking up time. Anyways goodluck to everyone.

Its called ranking and your SEO efforts, its your competition putting in SEO efforts. Doesnt have to do with algo change. Algo is there it works. You guys make it sound like algo is like a mysterious living creature.

I've been collaborating with the bigboys in SEO industry for quite a long time. Now, I can see a lot of youngsters start doing SEO but they claim themselves as "SEO Masters SEO Guru etc..." but clearly they don't really understand The Components of a Search Engine and How Search Engine Works.

I would strongly advice that you read more about Search Engine Algorithm, particularly Google.

@cyraxx here's a little quick free tutorial for you about Google SE Algorithm..


SE Algorithms learn based upon historical click data, social data, link data, etc and then when algorithms are added to the master equations(weighing sites for ranking purposes), new capabilities are added(update its way of ranking a site), thus new machine learning takes place and those datasets which were already crawled and indexed as well as spun will allow for the googlebots in the future to be more advanced and smarter all the way out. There's a lot that goes into adding to the algos in order to optimize machine learning to the point of hitting artificial intelligence, right now the machines are simple Turing machines connected and shifted with constant changing algos and datasets.

Sir is there something missing/wrong with the explanation given? If there is, could you please point out? I think it pays a lot to make enough justification when we give opinions for the sake of others reading and learning through this thread.

However, with all due respect sir, i think the above post of sir cyraxx, is just one of the simplest and practical explanation I've ever crossed about SEO and how to deal with it. Sure, just like any other lessons, SEO thing is made up of components, terms, bunch of theories etc - but they're all the basics. SEO is not just about learning, following and finally applying those theories, for me. It's how we interpret them and use them (discovering our own strategies) to our OWN advantage in practical situations....I highly appreciate the above post of sir cyraxx as it's clearly based on practical situation -if we come to think of it, algorithms are indeed, just equivalent to laws or general guidelines in real world. They're mainly created- under the Harm Principle -protect people from being harmed by others (spamming and people using dirty tricks to hurt other sites) in Online World. But just like any laws, they're subject for reiteration to (this explains why there are constant changes from Panda - Penguin). But the question is, Does government (Google) run people's lives? hell no. I can't imagine myself living in this world with someone's keep on dictating me when to sleep, what to eat and what to enjoy. It doesn't work that way. This is where, on my point of understanding, the post mentioned about algo exageration is about. Most online users think Google is God in the Internet which is not this is where most SEO's say that, this particular strategy doesn't work because it violates search engine terms. Truth is they ACTUALLY work but maybe not as effective as before or might just need some modifications (profile backlinks/WEB 2.0/Article marketing). They're alive and kicking, there are people (even me) who are still making a living out of it simply because they still work. Conclusion: understanding search engine algorithm is important, it guides me what to do and what should I not do but it DOES'NT define how I should enjoy my life (SEO strategies to use).

OnT: so far wala psad koy nahibal-an schools nag-offer ani in CEBU, however, karon naa nay dghan online tutorials and lessons PAID and FREE. Mostly nako mga kaila nga SEO kay sariling sikap, they get the theories and put them into practice jud. But if ever there's SEO school puhon, I bet @cyraxx will be a very good mentor- lessons are related in practical situation.
