To illustrate a couple: In front of the class, volunteers were regressed to different stages of their childhood, going back to 12 years old, to 8 and finally 4 or 5 years old. At each stage they were asked to write their names on a piece of paper. You could actually see their handwriting regress to childlike scrawling; even the way they held their pens changed as they regressed.
We were also taught self-hypnosis techniques to get rid of pain (the pain would go away but only temporarily). The class also delved into hypnotic regression into past lives and the result was downright creepy. But our professor himself did not believe in past lives. Being a priest, I guess he wasn't allowed to believe.
I was also part of the varsity shooting team. Before one inter-school competition, we went through a hypnotherapy session to improve visualization and shooting technique. Sure enough, almost all of us posted our personal best scores and the school won the overall title. Whether or not the championship was directly because of hypnosis is arguable, but that made all of us believers. Unfortunately, we were also in our senior year so that was the first and last time we ever used hypnotherapy.
We were lucky to have done our hypnosis classes and hypnotherapy sessions with one of the leading experts in pyschology and the paranormal, Fr. Jaime Bulatao. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else.
