Hi everyone! Me and two other friends joined the photo contest last year and this year.
First of all, we are not Photographers from Canon. We have Nikon.
We picked the area near the judges station somewhere in Iglesia ni Cristo. There were only a few photographers there, less than 10 or 10 the most when the carousel started moving . Its a perfect area to shoot the Dancing Dancers

I'd say it was a give and take with the rest of the photographers that i brushed elbows with. And i would still like to further say that discipline and respect is there especially when a flock of photographers came in to that area.
CROWD CONTROL was way bad. It got worst after lunch. But we still gave way to the non registered photographers who braved in, just to get near the contingents because after all, it is SINULOG. What got most into our nerves is that one officer who's suppose to be part of the crowd control, he was in uniform but since he got his dslr hanging on his neck...i bet, he forgot his responsibilities. You just gave a wrong impression to us...tsk tsk tsk
Around 2pm, we decided to move to fuente since we didn't like the crowd control but its triple worst there and the number of photographers were tripled too. hehehe I understand the sentiments of those who kinda hated the people wearing the red canon shirt, our apologies. I also hope you hear our side, in order for us to capture great shots…we need to be on a greater position to do that. We are not only competing with other photographers. We are also competing with non registered photographers (there’s a lot of them). It’s just easy to pin point us because we are recognizable.
What should be focused is to create a system that will make things much smoother next time and that goes out to the SFI because they have the power to do that and to simply eliminate those who can’t follow their rules. Because only through this can we strain out the less passionate about the contest. I bet a lot noticed that there’s a lot as well who are wearing the red shirts but don’t have camera’s, they just want to get inside the parade. Talk about money making…tsk tsk…Sinulog 2011 is still the best for me, less chaotic than this year.
Let us not limit our understanding with what our eyes can easily see and let us not settle for band aid solutions. Just my 25 cents!
Pit Senyor everyone!
and congrats in advance to the Winners!
