I agree with goryo13's advise however, make sure to get the ff:
1. Get enough sleep/rest. Shoot for 8-10 hrs or more each day. If you workout in the afternoon or evening, take a short nap [3-mins-1hr] if possible, prior to workout session especially if you workout after .
2. Eat healthy meal [balance ratio of protein, carbs/cals and healthy fats] at least an hour prior to training. Some would even eat more calories than their usual intake for fuel.
3. Lastly, drink enough water - before, during and after workout. Most gym goers neglect the powerful role of plain/distilled/purified water.
In my opinion, pre workout supps are optional though they offer convenience and all the promises of the products.
I have tried Jack3d and its whew, definitely good.
