Hi Everyone,

I have a post from a schoolmate in Highschool. They needed a Type O negative donor, I already checked the Blood Type List we have from the clinic but unfortunately we don’t have any O negative from the record so I am sending to the body in case you have a friend on someone you know.

I needed a blood donor myself when I had dengue and the support from coworkers was overwhelming. This time I am doing this for a friend in hopes of getting a donor for O negative blood as this is a rare blood type here in our country.

“Sad news today. I have just been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). I will be undergoing chemotherapy in a few days and will go on isolation to reduce risk of infection. Urgently in need of "O-" (O negative) blood type donors for transfusion next week. We called regional blood bank and red cross already and they don't have it as of the moment. Kindly refer if you know anyone, you may contact my wife Ara Inso thru 09276333918 or 09228329504. Thank you so much.”

Update:

7 screened donors since last night.

2- passed
2- failed, low hemoglobin count
1- blood type incompatible
2- mismatch

This is my first batch. I am currently calling my 2nd batch.

We need at least 6 donors, 3 of them will be donors for pack RBC and 3 for platelets. Apparently, we have two major concerns:
1. This blood type is very rare and
2. Not all will pass the screening process.

For the meantime, I am prioritizing those who are readily available and willing. And I'm categorizing them by batch. If I haven't called today, more or less I'll call soon. Again, thank you so much.

Ang O+ and O- and plain lain2x pod na ba? na confuse lng jud ko ana ila classification.

yup.. i'm sure you've heard of "Rh positive" or "Rh negative" before.. ang kanang + or - sa tumoy, Rh factor na cya (or D antigen).. tanan blood types under sa ABO system (A, B, AB, O), naa nay sumpay nga + or -..

I have this friend also nga ngpa X-ray sya pero dili mn daw ma klaro ang X-ray. Ngano diay na? Gipa adto syas Doctor nga mubasa sa result sa X-ray pero wala mn sya nidayun pod.

leukemia is cancer = multifactorial.. daghan maka-contribute, pero kasagaran dli jud ma-specify unsa ang cause.. murag ang x-ray dli man maka-diagnose ug leukemia.. cbc hinuon ug biopsy sa bone marrow..
