para lang nako boss ha, usa sa killer sa PSU is heat kung 60% efficient ra ang usa ka PSU of any brand 40% of power is converted to/ wasted as heat. in that case roughly mas dali ra ang life sa PSU compared sa 80% efficient. likewise pud sa voltage regulation, whether bad or good ang regulation the waste energy is still heat, voltage regulation is part of getting the PSU's efficiency. correct me lng if sayop ko mao man gud ingon ni sir hehe.

sa akong pinaka simple nasabtan gamit ni ang mga 80 PLUS kng fully loaded pirme imo PSU pero kng wa ra pud murag sayang. angay ni sa mga superpowered rigs pareha kanang mg SLI or Xfire.

Akong pasabot is kanang 80+ certification daghan loopholes so it's not an assurance of a psu's VALUE. In my understanding, this certification is regardless of rated loads on all voltages but just a generalization of the ratio between output and input consumption @ different load percentages.

Ex: a 500w psu with ONLY a single (1) rail of 12v rated @ 18A can still acquire a bronze rating without breaking a sweat. A lot of OEMs can do this but they just dont go through the trouble and additional expenses of getting a certification because that would add up to overhead costs and eventually the psu's market price. Even Seasonic, Enermax and Delta dont have all their models 80+ certified.

The point is Efficiency Rating cannot be the single most significant criteria of a psu's performance. Brand sometimes speaks more. But, yeah, 80+ and 80+bronze aside, gold and platinum psu's can pretty much standup for their labels..

Kana, wala tay paagi kung unsaon pagkabalo other than looking @ comprehensive reviews. The same also holds true for ripple and hold-up time. The best assurance gyud is to look at how near the total 12v load rating compared to the total load rating of the psu as a whole. Most psus that can deliver most of their maximum total psu load via the 12v rail alone have very good voltage regulation, ripple and hold-up time.

Ex: if a 650w psu can deliver 648w via 12v, that is usually a good indication of value.

And this shows exactly my point where sometimes the brand is more an indicative of performance than eco rating.

From HERE, it shows FSP having the most 80+certifications but it doesnt mean that this brand is more reliable than enermax, seasonic, delta, antec, seventeam, CWT or whatsoever

Correct. Nobody in the pc world knows PSUs better than jonnyguru. Check also hardwaresecrets. I particularly like their overload tests..
