Then pag graduate niya highschool nangapply sya pagkaworking student para makaskwela og college. Imagina kung gipun-an pa ang 2 years iyang HS? Wala sad ko kasabot ani ngano dili siya kasulod.

    Three things:
    1. Makadawat ang mga estudyante og diploma after graduating junior high. Sama ra nga ni graduate sila sa high school in our present setting.
    2. By the time a student graduates from Senior high, he/she should have been prepared with the necessary skills and specialization for the chosen career. A student is expected to graduate at 18 y/o (if he/she graduates on time) which is the legal age to work.
    3. We are expecting graduates that are not only ready to be college students but also individuals nga andam makisabay sa laban ng buhay.

I support K + 12, purely because it'll give Filipinos a chance to be genuinely recognized as college graduates and professionals abroad. Plus it gives students more room and time to really internalize knowledge and skills. Not all students should HAVE to go to college to be credible for a job. Some people excel with or without a college degree. The problem here is the state of Philippine education. We have to standardize the system; curricula, teachers, and facilities, and those who graduated under K + 10, before we can adapt the program. It's a good idea, but the Philippines isn't ready for it.

I think great good can be done by scrapping the Child Labor Act, and the Minimum wage, and deregulating education to the free market... Trying to improve a centralized educational system is not going to work... Proof? US educational system and how it spiraled down in quality ever since the start of centralized regulation of it...

I’ll start with two at this point because I don’t want to overload my peewee bird brain: No. 1, "senior graduates will find it easier to find jobs". Now, that’s a bit of a stretch considering these high school graduates from the proposed K+12 basic education program will have to compete with an oversupply of college graduates who have difficulty finding jobs themselves.

And some gullible ones here thought DepEd's logic was fundamentally sound, but obviously those ducks are not in a row. Unless those jobs will just miraculously materialize to absorb the suddenly larger number of high school and college graduates! Or, we beef up OFW which, according to a press release, is going to downsize or halt the domestic help exports.

OT: basa lng sd gamay sa mga previous post

    @3nzoy
    1) what is the assurance nga dili na isaka ang requirements sa pag sulod og trabaho? if dili nimo isaka ang requirements, then you are defeating the purpose of the said move? We are raising the Bar in education, yet lowering the bar in employment? asa man na nahitabo ang ingon ana? if naay 2 ka applicante, one with SHs, one kay HS grad ra asa man ang logical nga dawaton? parehas rani sa karon nga HS grad/College level vs College Grad nga nangapply og blue collar job.
    2) Lisod na dawaton mga working students (like my cousin) bai. Put it this way, nig first year College (first sem) block sectioning man ka diba? but it is only on the first sem, sa 2nd sem Flexible na imo sched. mao to ang nakatabang sa ako cousin nga makasulod tungod sa iya work og School sched. sa Senior High parehas ba ka flexible ang schedule like sa college? maybe you can enlighten me on this kay nakaresearch man ka about DepEd's program.
    3) i doubt a young adults will ever be ready. unsa may laban nila nga mismo karon lisod man ipangita og work.
BPO nalay pinakagusog & pinakadali sudlan nga trabaho karon (dako pag sweldo). even our govt, DepED & our dear country is not ready for this. we are behind our asian neighbors dili tungod sa ato educational system but because of the Government's lack of support (wa pay labot ang issues sa walay kamatayang Corruption, Smuggling, etc).

Im not saying nga this IDEA is no good but IMO di ni bagay sa ato karon. Realistic lang ko, unsa man diay pagtuo nila sa ato?Public School ra nato paeskwelahon ang mga anak? so gusto sila nga magsalig ta sa Gov't permi? hahaha. we need GOOD PAYING jobs (at least P500/day) to support our family, not additional years at Public schools. Public ba sad kaha? hmmm

Naa man jud oversupply sa college grads. As for the tech voc k-12 graduates, they have an advantage over college grads nga theory heavy but wala kaayo sa practical skills. Daghan colleges focused ra kaayo sa theory except universities nga kumpleto ug gamit hehe.

As for the jobs, it's totally another issue. Most of the world will go in recession so dako jud na nga problema.

That's why I will teach my kid to be very flexible and save jud maayo. Kay grabe kaayo ang shifting sa career. You might have a job today but di na kaayo sure next year due to technology and globalization.
    Cheap labor is everywhere.

sakto jud bai.... SAVE SAVE SAVE jud ang saktong duwa...

Unsaon taman gud nga gi bombahan man ang atoang mga madlang people to be pure spenders... sa tv, radio, newspaper, etc.. then karon, nagkalisod, ang basulon kay either uban tao (like previous amo/workmate or ang gobyerno)... tsk tsk tsk...

Bisan pa siguro ug himuon nilang K+15 or K+20 pa ang educational system nato, pero if ang students kay walay disiplina sa pag save, tabla ra gihapon na tanan.....

Sad news, even savings will not save anyone when a country is heading towards socialism.... I'm not saying that saving is a bad idea, its just not enough... I am saddened by how many citizens willing to give in to socialist policies without asking the economic impact it will have in their lives... K-12 is a very very bad idea...
