ang issue lang jud ani kay budget ug implimentation.
and medyo familiar sad ko kay affected mi aning K-12.
And hangtod karon wa pay clear guidelines sa implimentation.

Ideally, nice ang concept. i am for change as long as makatabang ni sa ato. ang problema nako ani bai kay di ni realistic. para sa mga ok ang status sa kinabuhi, payts kaayo ni. but huna-huna ang mga taga probensya nga naglisod (mag-uuma ang ginikanan, etc)bai, pila raman ang taga probensya ang nakagraduate sa HS (wa panay labot sa kwentada ang mga taga CITY ha)? nag add lang ta og laing "possible" reason for discrimination nasad (labi na sa local job market). karon daan lisod na pangita og discente nga trabaho if di ka graduate sa HS. 2 years more in high school (or Senior High) will not guarantee our future kids to find work. adding 2 years para makareflect ka unsa nga course jud ang imo gusto sa college is not a justifiable reason. daghan nigraduate nga nagbasol kay maypa lain ang ila course gikuha mainly because obsolete na ilang course (current market demand/trend). simple example, if nurse or caregiver(in demand several years ago) ka nga naa sa pinas then naa kay mga successful nga amigo sa Singapore nga mga IT, di ba kaha ka magbasol nga nganong wa ka nag IT?
2 years is not enough to change a young person's mind. some people will have to take a lifetime to really understand what they want to do with their lives. I believe that our system is already working.Moving forward we need Better teachers & Better tools like, classroom, labs, etc not longer years.
Let me clear things out:
K+12 Program= Kinder + 12 years of basic education [6 years elementary, 4 Junior High and 2 Senior High]
1. K+12 will start this coming school year. That means that incoming freshman students will have a total of six years in HS. The government still have four years to address the classroom and teacher scarcity issue.
2. Under the K+12, the intention is not just to add two years of schooling but more importantly to enhance the basic education curriculum.
3. The benefits of K+12 outweighs the additional cost that may be incurred by the government or families. Benefits include, but is not limited to:
*Decongested work load.
Imagine a 12-year curriculum fitted to 10 years of basic education(the present model used).
*Be internationally acknowledged graduates.
High school graduates in the Philippines do not meet the 12-year requirement in line with the Bologna Accord and Washington Accord. This may be prejudicial to graduates who wish to work or study abroad after high school.
*Become at par with international standard. We are the ONLY country in Asia with 10 years of Basic education. Internationally, we are one of three countries that don't have 12-year Basic Education Program. This will put our graduates at disadvantage internationally, even if daghan nato ang utokan (as what many are quick to point out).
*Change public perception that highschool is JUST a preparation for a higher education (college).
Many parents think that students need to pursue college degree to get better chances of employment. Unfortunately, only few families can afford to send their children to college.
*Provide fair chance to employment.
After graduating in senior high school, students may be ready for employment. At 18 y/o, the graduates are [hopefully] emotionally- matured enough and skillful enough to be efficient employees if they can't afford to go to college. In the present education system, when someone graduates from high school and can't go to college, he/she has to wait for 2 unproductive years before he/she can work legally. That adds to the tambay population, until manganad ug di na jud mo trabaho.
Let me quote what the DepEd report has to say:
This will hopefully address the haunting possibility of shortage sa mga farmers, fishermen, agriculturist, vets etc. This will hopefully remove the stigma that welders are no good compared to doctors. This will hopefully address the underemployment issue in that the students are given the fair chance to do what they want and excel in what they are good at.The two years of senior high school intend to provide time for students to consolidate acquired academic skills and competencies. The curriculum will allow specializations in science and technology, music and arts, agriculture and fisheries, sports, business and entrepreneurship, etc
36 The implementation of the K+12 program will be phased. Universal kindergarten will be offered starting SY 2011-2012. By SY 2012-2013, the new curriculum will be offered to incoming Grade 1 as well as to incoming junior high school students. The target of DepEd is to put in place the necessary infrastructure and other necessary arrangements needed to provide Senior High School (SHS) education by SY 2016-201737 The SHS curriculum (which assumes already an unclogged basic education curriculum) will offer areas of specialization or electives such as science and technology, music and arts, agriculture and fisheries, sports, business and entrepreneurship, etc., and subjects for advanced placement.
38 In implementing the K-6-4-2 proposal, DepEd will take into account the issues and concerns of all stakeholders, including the high school graduates before 2016. The mechanics and other details of the transition plan will be threshed out with HEIs in coordination with CHED, TESDA and other critical stakeholderssource: http://www.deped.gov.ph/cpanel/uploa...Img/K12new.pdf43 An open and consultative process will be adopted in the promotion of the Enhanced K+12 Basic Education Program. In accordance with the “Tao ang Boss” principle, an open and consultative process will be adopted to ensure the successful development and implementation of the K+12 program
Can we at least give the government one chance? Panagsa na lang ganeh na molihok ang DepEd, tagai pud og chance ui.
If you are concerned about the money matters, there are two possible ways on how to get the necessary funds to carry out the said program:
1. Increase the tax (which I think is unnecessary since daghan nag ingon kurakuton ra sad na. Besides, daghan man ang delinquent tax payers, sila gukda ayaw nang honest tax payers); or
2. Increase the budget for education.
If done correctly, this will be a very good move. They should not rush it and make sure that everything is ready before implementing it.
why unahon man ni nila? Wala pa gani ma improve ang style of teaching diri sa pinas, nag huna2x na nu.on sila ug add another 2yrs...haaaa! Even the facilities, ga kulang2x pa. Pun.an pa sa corruption. Kini jud si smiling president.![]()
ang mag 1st year highschool next school year 2012-2013 mao na pioneering nga batch
useless gihapon if ang system and teachers kay incompetent gihapon... kalas lang ug kwarta and panahon...
