No its not really windows XP (alone) thats having that issue, workstation class motherboards have no problems detecting 4GB's or more, Windows XP x64 / Vista 64 can handle 4GB's properly or even using 2 sticks of 2GB modules would work properly under windows xp

so if you do get 2 gig of ram, you should do minor tweaks in the registry optimizes windows to utilize efficiently your 2Gig ram.

big performance improvement jud bai... noticed it very much in company of heroes and nwn2... sa akong company of heroes before wen i was using 1gig dugay kaayo mo exit from playing then load times kay dugay and choppy gamay if daghan na kontra but wen i installed 2gig na wen i click X mo exit dayon cya dritso sa game then ang game di na jud mo choppy bsan high settings gamit... nya sa nwn pod mas smoother na cya mo dagan

nya i got this improvements without tweaking windows na diay i think installing the additional ram would make ur system run faster bsan wa nay tweak2x

    Wrong.

Thats been proven to make the entire system unstable as some programs are require a pagefile regardless if you have infinite amounts of highspeed ram.
