Why should we always blamed our government? Kung mao na ang reason, mura na ta ug Juan Tamad na magpa-abot na mo tagak ang bayabas sa iyang baba.

as what junmar4 has said, filipinos work hard abroad so we can never conclude that we are just plain tamad as a people. compensation and morale affect work output and sad to say both are problem areas in the philippines. compensation because labor here is so cheap; morale because of the lack of growth opportunities.

although i believe that change starts with the individual, change in a nation-wide scale can only be generated by a top-down approach--by strong leadership. people need it, people look for it. if there would be a consistent nationwide drive for just compensation, work productivity, and discipline exemplified by the top leaders of the land, this would surely rub off on it's people. it's not hard to imagine at all coz as we can see now, our leaders are involved in corrupt practices and guess what, we get demoralized and settle for mediocrity ourselves.

i can contribute in my own little way, but it's so insignificant it doesn't change the lives of the filipino people. only the government has such unique responsibilty, privilege, and power to affect the lives of its constituents.

In my own opinion, Overpopulation is the main reason why we do have the so-called social struggle here in our country.
