    Hello everyone,
I pass by again after a long break and I'm glad this thread is still kicking and growing. Yes, i'm still running and had in fact dared crossed to triathlon. Now that the Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 sanctioned by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) has chosen Cebu as its venue for the next 3 years (2012-14), i think we should grab this opportunity to get the experience of joining such a prestigious international sports event like the 70.3 (Half) Ironman. I know triathlon is not only technical especially the swim part not to mention the expense that goes with it but it's all worth it once you get the rhythm of the routine. But just like any other activity, ang sugod ray lisud. And if the individual 70.3 is just too harsh, WTC offers relay. Ask a friend to do the 1.9 km swim, another to do the 90 km bike and you run the 21k.
I've done one 70.3 and i say that the experience not only of the race itself but also the months of training preceding it is worth all your time, effort and even money. If you can't decide between today and January 31, 2012, there are still two years to go.

Below are the details of the event:

    Start: Sunday, August 5, 2012
    Additional Date Information

    6:30 a.m
Address: Cebu, Philippines, Cebu, Pili 4418 PHL

    Fees

    Individuals:
    $225 USD (Open-1/31/12)
    $275 USD (2/1/12–5/31/12)

    Teams:
    $325 USD (Open-1/31/10)
    $375 USD (2/1/11–5/31/11)

Brief Description: The Cobra Energy Drink Ironmam 70.3 Philippines is a World Triathlon Corporation sanctioned event and entitles winners to slots for the World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oops by the way, i guess i have to make this disclaimer that i'm not connected with the organizers of the event or the WTC but just a running enthusiast encouraging fellows to experience 70.3.
