Alarming TS because this Ancient article you've found caught my attention:

    1. That love cannot extend itself into marriage, that couples are bound by DUTY to share everything...

Since Ancient times pa ni nga writing, their views about marriage were made or influenced by one thing only... DUTY.Duty to strengthen the family's wealth, duty to strenghten their standing in society. Those kind of stuff... Arranged marriages were so rampant those days. Love and feelings had nothinng to do with it...

    So we go to this:

    2. Being married must not prevent one from seeking love elsewhere.

Again, Ancient times. Since in the first place naa man sila sa isa ka arranged marriage, wa man silay feelings sa ilang partner, natural ra that they find love or pleasure elsewhere...

A lot has changed during the Ancient times. People nowadays get married not because they were bound by duty, nor do married couples give everything to each other because they HAVE to, but because they WANT to... If nag minyo mo because in love mong duha, then no need for you to go and look elsewhere. Or to have an affair.

Love doesnt diminish or fade away, as long as you both keep the fire burning.
Marriage is not for fools. Its for mature people who care for each other and who wants to grow old together.

If you say it is for fools, then there are a lot of happy foolish people out there.

    Just my thought.
    PEACE.

well, i apologize if we operate at different cerebral levels. this thread was probably meant for those who CAN understand it.

like i said.. go on have fun...fools...

the code of love may be formulated by ancient minds, it does not diminish the truth it carries with it.

truth do not have a time line..

Okay... We'll leave you alone sa imung pagka bitter.
You may be the most intellegent man in the world, but I'm sure you will end up lonely with your way of viewing love, marriage and the capability of people.

    Good luck!

i like your perspective mam.. lemme share mine too..

bisaya lang ni akoa ha.. hehehe

the word here is DUTY.. that makes things complicated. should we change the word DUTY to NEED, then things would have been simplier..

the contention that love can not extend into marriage is for me not entirely true.. but love can not extend to the limitations set by marriage might be true..

naturally, human being is polygamous.. so without saying much, love should not be limited to one person alone as set forth by the laws of marriage.. hehe

So this is about taste now? How twisted could this turn out to be?

I am paraphrasing a thirty one point treatise on love, and never in all these hundreds of years in that document's existence has an illusion of bitterness been looked upon as an intelligent perspective!

Now you are sure how I will end up as a person? Are you a twisted fortune teller too?
